Representation of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Georgia reported that Kutaisi adopted own anti-corruption strategy and action plan. “As a result, Kutaisi became the first city in Georgia, which will cope with corruption by the innovative method, tailored to local specifics”, the representation said.

Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture declared that its National Environmental Agency will be authorized to make administrative decisions on environment protection. At that, instead of duty for environmental decision, service fee will be established, the Ministry said.

Arrangement of underground passage under Rioni River, necessary for construction of 45-km Kobuleti branch of East-West gas main, is completed, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation reported. In the underground passage with length of 1,100 m, the 500-mm pipeline has been placed.

National Bank of Georgia reported that total assets of credit unions (non-banking deposit institutions) amounted as of December 31, 2017 to 8.31 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has decreased by 12.3%.
