    PRIME MINISTER: OBSERVANCE OF RULES IS THE ONLY CORRECT WAY TO FEWER RESTRICTIONS BECAUSE OF COVID-19

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared that observance of rules (wearing masks, distancing, etc.) is the only correct way to fewer restrictions because of COVID-19.

    While stating this at the government meeting today, the Premier noted that epidemiological situation becomes complicated in the world, especially in Europe, and number of cases of infection grows in Georgia too.

    NBG LEFT REFINANCING RATE INTACT

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that its monetary policy committee decided yesterday to leave the refinancing rate without change. Respectively, the monetary policy rate remains 8%.


    STATE PROGRAM OF COMMUNAL BILLS’ SUBSIDIZING TO BE RELAUNCHED IN NOVEMBER

    Georgia’ Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared that starting from November 1, communal bills of the population will be subsidized during 4 months (November-February) by the same principle, as at the first phase (in this spring) of anti-crisis plan, developed in connection with COVID-19.

    While saying this at the government meeting today, the Premier noted: “This is that minimum, with which the state can support our citizens today”.


    MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE: NO INTERRUPTION IN FOOD SUPPLY EXISTED AND WILL NOT EXIST IN FUTURE

    We watch processes daily in order that “there was no interruption in food supply, which was didn’t happen in spring and will not happen in future too”, Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili declared today. “In critical situation, we manage processes so that our population was affected minimally”, he assured.


    TBILISI CITY HALL TO LAUNCH RETRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THOSE, SUFFERED BECAUSE OF COVID-19

    Tbilisi City Hall declared that retraining and employment assistance program will be launched for those citizens, who were suffered because of COVID-19. Online registration for those, who wish to take part in the program, was started on October 26 and will last until November 10, the City Hall said.


    WITH ASSISTANCE OF EBRD, NEW BUSES TO BE HANDED OVER TO LARGE REGIONAL CITIES

    Within program on municipal transport development, 175 new buses will be handed over to large regional cities of the country, Georgian government reported.

    As the government noted, the program is implemented by Georgian Municipal Development Fund with financial support of EBRD.


    MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE: THIS YEAR, PRIVATE SECTOR BOUGHT 180,000 T OF GRAPES, THE STATE – 95,000 T

    Rtveli (vintage) “is successfully accomplished”, and “for today, record volume of grapes, up to 280,000 t, is industrially processed in major industrial regions” (Kakheti and Racha-Lechkhumi), Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili declared today.

    The Minister stressed that this volume does not include showings of regions of Shida Kartli, Imereti and Kvemo Kartli, where wine growing, as a rule, is rather amateur activity.


    ECONOMY MINISTRY: WITH ASSISTANCE OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”, BUILDING OF FISHING VESSEL WILL BE FINANCED

    Natia Turnava, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, declared that within “Produce in Georgia” state program, “we enacted package of special programs, which supports fishery and those people, who will acquired, order, build fishing vessels and will serve them”. “We assist them both with credit-and-guarantee scheme and subsidizing of interest of credit and leasing”, she noted.

    ECONOMY MINISTER: “WIZZ AIR” PLANS TO RESTORE BASE IN GEORGIA IN NEXT SPRING

    Because of COVID-19 pandemic, airlines, including Hungarian low-coster Wizz Air, were forced to stop flights in many countries and to cut their bases, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava pointed.

    As the Minister told journalists today, Wizz Air said that with high probability, base in Georgia will be restored in next spring.


    “AJARA TEXTILES” FINISHED 2019 WITH LOSS TOO

    LLC Ajara Textiles reported loss of 504,320 lari for 2019. According to audited report of this Georgian textiles producer, the volume of loss has decreased 7 times year-on-year.


    “AVERSI RATIONAL” FINISHED 2019 WITH PROFIT

    LLC Aversi Rational reported profit of 2.4 million lari for 2019. According to audited report of this Georgian pharmaceutical company, it had loss of 3.9 million lari in 2018.
