    Experts of various spheres unanimously note that lockdown will destroy economy and will bring much heavier results, than we could receive in its absence, the article specifies.

    November 13, 2020 - Georgian authorities (speaker of the Parliament Archil Talakvadze) and opposition held a meeting during 3 hours in the residence of the US ambassador in Georgia, though no comments were made about details of conversation, the newspaper says.

    November 10, 2020 - In case of death of employee of Georgian Center for Coordination of Emergency Situations and Emergency Aid because of COVID-19, family of the deceased will receive one-time monetary assistance of up to 10,000 lari, the newspaper reports. In case of the Center’s employee service-incurred death, the assistance will make up 5,000 lari.

    November 10, 2020 - Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili met large bread producers and chairmen of associations of flour and bread producers, the newspaper reports.

    As the article points, participants of the meeting, because of existing situation, discussed necessity of responsible decision making by the business sector.

    November 9, 2020 - Georgian Young Lawyers Association declared that citizens, who gathered in front of the building of Central Election Commission in Tbilisi, must be allowed to express their peaceful protest.

    At that, taking into account complicated epidemiological situation and crisis in healthcare system, use of water-cannons against participants of the action (in the evening on November 8) is unjustified, the organization specifies.

    November 9, 2020 - Georgian non-governmental organization Democracy Research Institute (DRI) estimates that use of water-cannons and tear gas against the protesters, who gathered in front of Central Election Commission on November 8, had no legal grounds.

    Proceeding from number of protesters (less than police officers’ number there), such actions were illegal, unreasonable and unambiguously disproportionate, the organization points.

    November 13, 2020 - Referring to the city hall of Tskaltubo, the newspaper reports that new biological water treatment facility is built in this spa resort in Imereti region. The article notes that due to lack of treatment facility, fecal masses flew down to the river for decades.

    November 11, 2020 - Number of living allowance recipients in Georgia increases already for several months, the newspaper reports.

    According to Georgian Social Services Agency, there were 502,258 beneficiaries of living allowance in September, against of 428,608 in the same month of 2019.

    November 10, 2020 - Georgian United Water Supply Company announced tender for design and construction of water supply system in the village of Patardzeuli of Sagarejo municipality (Kakheti region), the newspaper reports. Estimated cost of the project makes up 12 million lari.

    BANKEBI DA FINANSEBI: “500,000 LARI WILL BE SPENT FOR SUBSIDIZING OF SUB-STANDARD CITRUSES”

    November 12, 2020 - Georgian government plans to spend 500,000 lari for subsidizing of sub-standard citruses (tangerines), the newspaper reports.

    Purchase of sub-standard tangerines will start after November 25-27, for which end the state will pay 10 tetri per 1 kg, while another 10 tetri will be paid by purchaser enterprise.
