PRIME MINISTER: ALL AGREE THAT WE ARE ENTERING INTO RECESSION PERIOD
When we speak with our international partners and international organizations, “all unambiguously agree that we are entering into recession period”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared today.
Challenge of COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic “is extremely difficult and global and it is impossible that it did not affect Georgia’s economy”, Gakharia pointed.
2B LARI ALLOCATED FOR DIRECT SUPPORT TO GEORGIAN ECONOMY
Georgian government decided today to allocate 2 billion lari for direct support to economy of the country.
While reporting this, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia noted that this sum “is mobilized for today in the budget”.
IN GEORGIA, 351M LARI ARE ENVISAGED FOR HEALTHCARE DURING FIGHT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS
“The sum, directly allocated from the budget from the point of view of healthcare”, within fight against COVID-19 coronavirus, makes up 351 million lari, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared.
The Premier noted that “This is the sum, which is reserved in the crisis budget”, and “has to be used extremely rationally”.
UTILITY BILLS FOR 3 MONTHS TO BE PAID FOR PART OF CITIZENS
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared that the government decided to provide direct assistance to “each citizen”.
However, he specified that the matter concerns in fact only those, who consume monthly less than 200 kWh of electric power and less than 200 cubic m of natural gas.
DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER: 38,000 CAR IMPORTERS MADE USE OF POSTPONEMENT OF PAYMENT OF CUSTOMS CLEARANCE FEE
Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili declared that 38,000 car importers of the country already made use of offered postponement of payment of customs clearance fee.
Tskitishvili reported this today, while speaking on package of privileges, offered by the government at the beginning of March against the background of COVID-19 pandemic.
IN ZESTAPONI, IMPLEMENTATION OF 7 NEW INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS BEGINS
PR Consulting Group reported about launch of 7 new infrastructure projects in Zestaponi municipality (Imereti region). The projects with total cost of about 2.7 million lari are financed by Georgia Regional Development Fund.
REGULATING COMMISSION: IN ENERGY SUPPLY SPHERE, REQUIREMENT ON CHECK OF CONSUMERS’ METERS ON THE SPOT IS FULFILLED BY 100%
Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission pointed that distribution companies have to provide check of consumer meter on the spot within 10 days after request of the consumer.
According to the Commission, in the sphere of energy distribution, this requirement was fulfilled in 2019 by 100%.
