ANNUAL INFLATION IN JANUARY MADE UP 6.4%
Sakstat reported that annual inflation in January made up 6.4%. At that, monthly inflation (i.e. in comparison with the previous month, December 2019) made up 0.7%.
IN APRIL, TRADE MISSION OF THE US DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO VISIT GEORGIA
Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that certified trade missions of the US Department of Commerce will visit Georgia and Azerbaijan on April 5-10.
That became known at information meeting of America-Georgia Business Council and the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC).
USAID TO ASSIST YOUTH AND FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS
USAID will assist to youth and women entrepreneurship in Georgia through its new program YES-Georgia, Georgian government reported. Ceremony of the program launch was held in Tbilisi on January 31.
ECONOMY MINISTER: IN GEORGIA, RATE OF WOMEN’S PARTICIPATION IN LABOR FORCE MAKES UP 56%, OF MEN – 74%
Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava reported that “In Georgia, share of 15-64 years old women’s participation in labor force (i.e. share of working or job-seeking, i.e. economically active population in total population) makes up 56%, while similar indicator for men makes up 74%”. At that, “Employment rate among women makes up 49%, while among men – 63%”, she specified.
STATE MEDICAL HOLDING IS FOUNDED
“We can announce establishment of a medical holding”, Georgia’s Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection Ekaterina Tikaradze declared today. As director of this state holding, she presented Giorgi Chogovadze.
IN THE GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION, NEXT MEETING OF INVESTORS COUNCIL WAS HELD
The 11th meeting of Council of Investors took place in administration of the Georgian government today, being chaired by Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, press service of the government reported.
As the press service noted, the Premier has presented at the meeting new secretary of the Council, Giorgi Cherkezishvili, and new council members, Business Association of Germany and Association of Georgian and Turkish Businessmen.
FEE FOR ACCESSION TO WATER SUPPLY NETWORK IS DECREASED
Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported that fee for accession to water supply network is decreased since February 1.
In particular, fee for accession to a network (diameter – 20 mm) in municipalities of the country is decreased by 100 lari and amounts now to 400 lari.
