ECONOMY MINISTER: WITHIN “WORK FROM GEORGIA” INITIATIVE, OVER 200 APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED

Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava reported that within initiative “Work from Georgia”, over 200 applications are submitted.

Among countries of applicants, there are the US, Japan, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, the Minister said after the government meeting today.




ECONOMY MINISTER: IN SEPTEMBER, 70 FLIGHTS ARE CONFIRMED

After Georgian government meeting today, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava declared that 70 (international) flights are confirmed in September. Out of total, 30 flights are regular that is “many times more, than in previous months, when there was generally total restriction”, she noted.




FLIGHTS TO MESTIA RESUMED

Since today, regular flights on the route Natakhtari-Mestia-Natakhtari are renewed. As Georgian Airports Association said, flights will be made 5 times a week (except Tuesday and Saturday).

STATE PROGRAM ON SUBSIDIZING OF HOTELS’ CREDIT INTEREST EXTENDED UP TO 12 MONTHS

Georgian government declared that state program on subsidizing of hotels’ credit interest is extended from 6 to 12 months. The decision was made at the government meeting today.




COMPONENT OF APPLE SUBSIDIZING ADDED TO THE STATE PROGRAM OF PREFERENTIAL AGROLENDING

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced about new component within the state program of preferential agrolending, “which will give to the Agriculture Ministry and purchaser companies an opportunity not to leave any kilogram of apples unpurchased”.

The Premier declared this at the government meeting today and noted that this “means subsidizing”.




PAYMENT OF 200-LARI ALLOWANCE FOR CHILDREN UP TO 17 YEARS OLD IS STARTED

Georgian government reported that stage-by-stage payment of 200-lari allowance for children up to 17 years old has started on September 2. Registration of allowance-seekers will continue on special web portal until December 1.




IN Q2, VOLUME OF PRODUCTION IN ELEVATORS INCREASED BY 9.9% Y-O-Y

Sakstat reported that 133,500 t of production were placed in Georgian elevators in the 2^nd quarter. The volume has increased by 6.8% quarter-on-quarter and by 9.9% year-on-year.




IN Q2, MEAT PRODUCTION BY SLAUGHTERHOUSES DECREASED BY 17.6% Y-O-Y

Sakstat reported that 8,444 t of meat were produced by Georgian slaughterhouses in the 2^nd quarter. The volume has decreased by 1.8% quarter-on-quarter and by 17.6% year-on-year.




IN Q2, VOLUME OF PRODUCTION IN REFRIGERATING FACILITIES INCREASED BY 60.8% Y-O-Y

Sakstat reported that 89,100 t of production were placed in Georgian cold storages in the 2^nd quarter. The volume has increased by 50% quarter-on-quarter and by 9.9% year-on-year.

“GEORGIAN RAILWAY” FINISHED 6 MONTHS WITH LOSS OF 31M LARI

State-owned JSC Georgian Railway reported loss of 31 million lari for 6 months of this year. The volume has decreased by about 24% year-on-year.




AS OF 6 MONTHS, 79% OF TOTAL HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUM ACCOUNTED FOR 5 COMPANIES

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total medical (health) insurance premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in the first half of the year (171.4 million lari), share of 5 companies made up 79% (135.7 million lari).

GPIH was on the first position with premium of 50.3 million lari (year-on-year growth – 60.3%).
