GEORGIA AND SERBIA TO START WORK ON FREE TRADE AGREEMENT

Georgia and Serbia agreed to consider possibility of start working on the free trade agreement, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared.

The mentioned decision was made within the first meeting of bilateral intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, which took place in Tbilisi on July 3-4.

ANNUAL INFLATION IN JUNE MADE UP 4.3%

Sakstat reported that annual inflation in June made up 4.3%.

At that, monthly inflation (i.e. compared with the previous month, May) was negative (deflation), making up 1%.




RULE OF CERTIFICATION OF AERONAUTIC ENTERPRISE IS APPROVED

Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reported about approval of rule of certification of enterprise, providing aeronautic services, which will enter in force on April 1, 2020.

Approval of the document was caused by need of rapprochement of national legislation with European standards, the Agency said.




TBILISI HOSTED ITALIAN-GEORGIAN BUSINESS FORUM

Today, Italian-Georgian business forum was held in Tbilisi, being focused on infrastructure, construction and engineering, energy and urbanistic development.

According to organizers, the event attracted about 30 Italian and over 100 Georgian companies.




ECONOMY MINISTRY: GEORGIA HAS CONSIDERABLE POTENTIAL OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Today, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development hosted a working meeting with industrial sector, which was dedicated to energy efficiency and was assisted by the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

As the Ministry said, participants of the meeting pointed at considerable potential, which Georgia has regarding energy efficiency of buildings, transport, industrial and energy spheres.




WB TO ASSIST TO RETRAINING OF 3,000 GEORGIA CITIZENS IN ICT SPHERE

We will invite global players in the sphere of information and communication technologies (ICT), who will retrain 3,000 citizens of Georgia, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Nikoloz Alavidze told journalists today. International tender for that end is already announced.

IN Q1, LIABILITY INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 4.7% Y-O-Y

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in liability insurance, amounted in the 1^st quarter to 5.49 million lari. The volume has increased by 4.7% year-on-year and made up 3.1% of total insurance premium for the reporting period.




IN Q1, OBLIGATIONS’ FULFILLMENT PREMIUM DECREASED BY 12.6% Y-O-Y

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in insurance of obligations’ fulfillment (banking guarantee), amounted in the 1^st quarter to 2.75 million lari. The volume has decreased by 12.6% year-on-year and made up 1.5% of total insurance premium for the reporting period.




IN Q1, FINANCIAL LOSS INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 27.9% Y-O-Y

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in insurance against of financial losses, amounted in the 1^st quarter to 1.03 million lari. The volume has increased by 82.9% year-on-year and made up 0.6% of total insurance premium for the reporting period.




NEW VEGETABLE AND FRUIT PROCESSING ENTERPRISE LAUNCHED IN KVARELI MUNICIPALITY

Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported about launch of Georgia’s Natural – vegetable and fruit processing enterprise in Kvareli municipality of Kakheti region.

As the Ministry noted, the company is beneficiary of the state project on co-financing of processing enterprises.
