IN JANUARY, GEORGIA’S ANNUAL INFLATION MADE UP 9.4%
Sakstat reported that in January, annual inflation in Georgia made up 9.4% (against of a 3% target). Monthly inflation (i.e. compared with the previous month, December 2022), made up 0.8%.
IN 2022, GEORGIAN BANKS’ CREDITING OF NATIONAL ECONOMY DECREASED BY 0.3%
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that loans, issued by Georgian banks to various sectors of national economy, totaled as of December 31, 2022 to 20.57 billion lari. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has decreased by 0.3%.
IN 2022, GEORGIAN BANKS’ CREDITING OF TBILISI INCREASED BY 2.5%
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that in total volume of credits, issued by Georgian banks to the country’s regions as of December 31, 2022 (45.19 billion lari), Tbilisi accounts for 71.3%, or 32.24 billion lari (year-on-year growth – 2.5%). A year ago (i.e. as of December 31, 2021), the share made up 73%.

GEORGIAN PREMIER: WE WANT TO START CONSTRUCTION OF ANAKLIA PORT ALREADY THIS YEAR
We want to start construction of the Anaklia port already this year, declared Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the government meeting today. Implementation of this and other major projects is planned with participation of the government, he noted.
GEORGIAN PREMIER: WE ARE WORKING ON MODIFICATION OF “KHUDONHES” PROJECT
We are working on modification of the KhudonHES project, declared Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the government meeting today.
The existing project envisages flooding of the village, graves, church, the Premier noted, pointing that the project modification should exclude necessity of flooding.
IN 2023, VINEYARD CADASTER SHOULD COVER ALL WINEGROWING REGIONS OF GEORGIA
In 2023, the program of creation of vineyards’ cadaster will be implemented in Imereti, Samegrelo and Guria regions, Georgian National Wine Agency reported. As a result, the cadaster will fully cover all winegrowing regions of Georgia, the Agency noted.
