    IN Q4 OF 2022, TURNOVER OF GEORGIAN BUSINESS SECTOR INCREASED BY 18.1% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that in the 4th quarter of 2022, turnover of Georgian business sector totaled to 51.7 billion lari. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 18.1%.


    IN Q4 OF 2022, OUTPUT OF GEORGIAN BUSINESS SECTOR INCREASED BY 22.1% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that in the 4th quarter of 2022, output of Georgian business sector totaled to 19.8 billion lari. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 22.1%.


    IN Q4 OF 2022, TBILISI ACCOUNTED FOR 79.6% OF GEORGIAN ENTERPRISES’ TURNOVER AND 66% OF OUTPUT

    Sakstat reported that in total turnover of Georgian enterprises for the 4th quarter of 2022 (51.7 billion lari), Tbilisi accounted for 79.6%. A year ago (i.e. in the 4th quarter of 2021), share of the capital made up 78.1%.


    IN Q4 OF 2022, AVERAGE MONTHLY SALARY IN GEORGIAN BUSINESS SECTOR INCREASED BY 19.6% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that in the 4th quarter of 2022, the average monthly nominal salary in Georgian business sector made up 1,911 lari. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 19.6% (or by 313.2 lari).


    GEORGIAN MINISTER: GOVERNMENT PLACES PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON IMPROVEMENT OF AIR COMMUNICATION

    “The government places particular emphasis on improvement of air communication, with attraction of more airlines with liberalized aviation market”, declared Levan Davitashvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

    The Minister noted that 38 airlines currently operate on 59 destinations from Georgia’s 3 international airports, including 30 destinations in Europe.


    USAID MISSION DIRECTOR: ABOUT 70% OF FARMERS BENEFITED FROM HAZELNUT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

    John Pennell, director of USAID mission in Georgia, said that benefits within Georgia Hazelnut Improvement Program (G-HIP) received up to 35,000 farmers, or about 70% of total famers, engaged in hazelnut production in the country. They increased sales and production up to $145 million, he noted.


    JAPAN TO FINANCE 2 NEW PROJECTS IN SAMEGRELO – ZEMO SVANETI

    Japan will finance 2 new projects in Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti, reported administration of this Georgian region. The ceremony of 3 projects’ signing (2 of which will be implemented in Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti), which total budget amounts to $336,554, took place recently at the Japanese embassy in Georgia.


    BECAUSE OF NON-NOTIFICATION ON CONCENTRATION, 3 GEORGIAN ECONOMIC AGENTS WERE FINED

    Georgian National Competition Agency fined 3 economic agents, including one individual, for non-notification on concentration. Total amount of fines makes up to 32,000 lari, the Agency said.
