    IN Q1, FDI IN GEORGIA INCREASED 4.3 TIMES

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which volume of foreign direct investments (FDI), made in Georgia in the 1st quarter, totaled to $568.2 million. If compared with the same quarter of 2021, the volume has increased 4.3 times.


    IN Q1, SPAIN LED IN TERMS OF FDI MADE IN GEORGIA

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which in total volume of foreign direct investments (FDI) made in Georgia in the 1st quarter ($568.2 million), share of Spain made up $196.1 million, or 34.5%. It should be noted that in the same quarter of 2021, Spanish FDI amounted to $200,000 only.


    IN Q1, RUSSIA ACCOUNTED FOR 52.5% OF TOTAL NEGATIVE FDI SHOWING IN GEORGIA

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which negative showing of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted in the 1st quarter to $21.4 million.

    In total negative indicator, Russia accounted for 52.5%, or $11.24 million.


    IN Q1, LARGEST FDI IN GEORGIA WERE MADE IN ENERGY SECTOR

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which in total volume of foreign direct investments (FDI), made in Georgia in the 1st quarter ($568.25 million), the energy sector accounted for 41.6%, or $236.4 million. If compared with the same quarter of 2021, FDI in this sector have increased 5.8 times.


    IN Q1, TBILISI ACCOUNTED FOR 80% OF TOTAL FDI IN GEORGIA

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which in total volume of foreign direct investments (FDI), made in Georgia in the 1st quarter ($568.2 million), Tbilisi accounted for 80%, or $445.4 million. If compared with the same quarter of 2021, the volume of FDI in Tbilisi has increased 4 times.


    IN 2021, INSURANCE BROKERS’ PREMIUM INCREASED BY 23%, COMMISSIONS – BY 20%

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in 2021, insurance premium of insurance brokers, operating in the country, totaled to 54.63 million lari (according to contracts). If compared with 2020, the volume has increased by 23%.

    IN 2021, AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 18.4%

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in 2021, Georgian insurance companies attracted a premium of 17.79 million lari (gross) from agricultural insurance, 87% of which accounted for the agricultural insurance state program. If compared with 2020, volume of the premium has increased by 18.4%, while share of the state program has decreased by 3 percentage points.


    IN Q1, AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE PREMIUM DECREASED BY 25% Y-O-Y

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that among Georgian insurance companies, premium from agricultural insurance was attracted in the 1st quarter only by Aldagi – 999,562 lari (gross). If compared with the same period of last year, the volume has decreased by 25%.
