    THE PARLIAMENT’S FISCAL COMMITTEE POSTPONED CONSIDERATION OF NBG REPORT

    The Georgian Parliament reported that consideration of the report of National Bank of Georgia (NBG) for 2021, which was on the Fiscal Committee’s agenda today, has been postponed. The reason is the illness of NBG President Koba Gvenetadze.


    GEORGIA JOINS WTO INITIATIVE ON REGULATION OF TRADE WITH SERVICES

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development announced that Georgia joins the initiative of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on regulation of trade with services.

    The declaration on internal regulation of services was adopted by 67 WTO member countries in 2021.

    GEORGIA EXPECTS TO HARVEST 160,000-170,000 T OF WHEAT THIS YEAR

    Giorgi Khanishvili, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, pointed that Georgia harvested about 140,000 t of wheat was in last year. We think, this year’s showing will be within the range of 160,000-170,000 t, he said.


    GEORGIA TO RECEIVE 16.25M EUR GRANT FROM GERMANY

    During the next 6 years, Georgian Agency of Protected Territories will be recipient of grant of 16.25 million EUR from the German credit bank for development (KfW). The grant agreement was signed on June 12.


    TURKISH-GEORGIAN BUSINESS FORUM “OURS” WAS HELD IN GEORGIA FOR THE FIRST TIME

    On June 10, the Turkish-Georgian business forum “Chveneburebi” (Ours) was held in Georgia for the first time. According to Georgian Foreign Ministry, over 100 Turkish entrepreneurs took part in the event.

    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT TO GET FOR FREE 7.73% IN THE COMPANY CONTROLLING “IDS BORJOMI INTERNATIONAL”

    The Georgian government declared that it will get for free 7.75% in the company controlling IDS Borjomi International. The matter concerns 1,104 ordinary shares.


    RUSTAVI MAYOR: “GWP” DOES NOT PERFORM ITS FUNCTIONS IN RUSTAVI PROPERLY

    Rustavi Mayor Nino Latsabidze considers that water supply company GWP does not perform its functions in the city properly.

    Over the past 3 days, drinking water has been supplied to parts of Rustavi on schedule, while this morning, without prior warning, the water supply was stopped to kindergartens, the Mayor indicated.


    “GIRTEKA LOGISTICS” TO OPEN A SERVICE CENTER IN GEORGIA THIS YEAR

    This year, the Lithuanian logistics company Girteka Logistics will open a global business services (GBS) office in Tbilisi, the State Agency Produce in Georgia reported recently.

    As the Agency noted, opening of the office will result in creation of over 300 new and highly paid jobs during the next 2 years.
