    THE PARLIAMENT APPROVED RETURN OF FINANCIAL SECTOR’S SUPERVISION TO NBG

    The Parliament approved legislative package, which authorizes again National Bank of Georgia (NBG) as the body, conducting supervision of financial sector. Respective amendments were approved on March 10 in the third reading with 84 votes.


    HEAD OF LLC “GEORGIAN MELIORATION” CHANGED

    Agriculture Ministry announced that its LLC Georgian Melioration has a new director general.

    The office occupies now Archil Bukia, who was adviser to Economy and Sustainable Development Minister so far.

    ISET: GEORGIAN REAL PROPERTY MARKET IN 2016 GREW SUBSTANTIALLY

    In 2016, Georgian real estate market has increased substantially, said International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET, which calculates realty market index within joint project with TBC Bank).

    Last year, 89,120 transactions were reported on the market, exceeding showing of 2015 by 20.2%.


    INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY AGENCY TO PROMOTE INNOVATIONS IN SAMEGRELO – ZEMO SVANETI

    Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Innovation and Technology Agency signed cooperation memorandum with 10 municipalities of Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti region.

    As the Agency said, the memorandum envisages implementation of innovation-promoting projects in the region.

    PROFIT OF “TBC BANK GROUP” GREW IN 2016 BY 36.4%

    TBC Bank Group reported preliminary figures, showing that net profit for 2016 amounted to 298.3 million lari, if envisaging effect of acquisition of Republic Bank in the 4 quarter. If compared with 2015, the volume has increased by 36.4%.


    “BGEO GROUP”: PROFIT OF BANKING BUSINESS IN 2016 INCREASED BY 12.8%

    BGEO Group published preliminary data, according to which profit of banking business of the group amounted in 2016 to 309.4 million lari. If compared with 2015, the volume has increased by 12.8%.


    DUE TO NON-FULFILLMENT OF LIABILITIES, PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH LLC “AGMA” CANCELED

    National Agency of State Property said that due to fail of LLC Agma to fulfill its liabilities, purchase agreement with this company was canceled.

    “Because of the mentioned, the property, handed over under the agreement, has been returned into the state ownership”, the Agency pointed.


    INSOLVENCY PROCEEDINGS ON “RUSTAVI AZOT” STARTED

    Tbilisi city court declared about launch of administrative proceedings on insolvency of LLC Rustavi Azot. Respective request was submitted to the court by the company’s representative Roin Moseshvili in February.


    TWO NEW PERMISSIONS ISSUED FOR NUMERATION RESOURCE USAGE

    Georgian National Communication Commission issued recently two new permissions on numeration resource usage, to LLC Fly TV and JSC SilkNet.

    Namely, Fly TV received permission for 1,000 subscriber numbers (286-0000 – 286-0999), intended for provision of fixed electronic communication service.


    ECONOMY MINISTRY: MORE TWO COMPANIES TO BE OPENED WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM

    Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that asphalt-concrete processing plant GeoGroup will be opened in Tbilisi in May.

    This will be mobile asphalt-concrete plant, which will employ 24 people, while investments will total to 3.35 million lari, the Ministry said.
