    WORKING HOURS OF RESTAURANTS AND ENTERTAINMENT INSTITUTIONS IN TBILISI AND IMERETI REGION ARE LIMITED

    In order to prevent COVID-19 spread, Georgian government decided to limit work of restaurants and all entertainment institutions, located in Tbilisi and Imereti region, up to 22:00.

    At the news briefing after the government meeting today, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that “we in Georgia have a record level today – 919 infected persons”, of whom 366 ones are in Tbilisi, 286 – in Ajara, 104 – in Imereti.

    IN SEPTEMBER, AVERAGE EXCHANGE RATE OF LARI DEPRECIATED BY 4.3% Q-O-Q AND BY 7% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia reported that at the end of September, exchange rate of lari against the US dollar made up 3.2878 GEL/USD, while average rate for September – 3.1723 GEL/USD.

    At the end of June, the rate made up 3.0552 GEL/USD, while average rate for June – 3.0419 GEL/USD (respectively, average exchange rate in September has depreciated by 4.3% quarter-on-quarter).


    AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, NATIONAL CURRENCY SUPPLY INCREASED BY 4.1% Q-O-Q AND BY 8.2% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia reported that as of September 30, national currency supply amounted to 4.46 billion lari. The volume has increased by 4.1% (or by 175.9 million lari) quarter-on-quarter and by 8.2% (or by 337.1 million lari) year-on-year.


    AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, STATE SECURITIES IN POSSESSION OF COMMERCIAL BANKS INCREASED BY 45.5% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that Georgian state securities, issued in national currency, which are in possession of Georgian commercial banks, amounted as of September 30 to 3.8 billion lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 45.5%.


    SINCE THE END OF OCTOBER, FREQUENCY OF FLIGHTS BETWEEN TBILISI AND PARIS AND MUNICH TO BE INCREASED

    Georgian government decided today to increase frequency of flights to Paris and Munich from Tbilisi since the end of October.

    At that, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared after the government meeting today, that in November, “direct flights will be opened gradually, but very carefully, as in the direction of Tbilisi, in the direction of Europe, as well as from Kutaisi in the direction of Europe”.


    IN VILLAGES OF MARNEULI MUNICIPALITY, REHABILITATION OF IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS UNDERWAY

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that rehabilitation of irrigation system is underway in villages Khikhani and Shaumyani of Marneuli municipality (region of Kvemo Kartli). Melioration infrastructure in these villages does not function for three decades, the Ministry noted.

    ECONOMY MINISTER: AMERICAN “EPAM” RELOCATES BUSINESS TO GEORGIA

    American IT company EPAM relocates its business to Georgia, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava told journalists today. She pointed that this is the first results of privileges, offered by Georgian government to international companies.


    IN 2019, NET PROFIT OF “GEORGIAN DISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING COMPANY” INCREASED BY 64.5%

    LLC Georgian Distribution and Marketing Company reported net profit of 11.6 million lari for 2019. According to audited report of the company, the volume has increased by 64.5% year-on-year.
