    INTERIOR MINISTER TO COMBINE FUNCTIONS OF NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL’S SECRETARY

    At the government meeting today, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared that Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri will combine functions of secretary of National Security Council.

    Gomelauri was re-appointed the Interior Minister in September 2019.


    ECONOMY MINISTER: BELARUS IS INTERESTED IN GEORGIA’S CAPACITY AS LOGISTIC HUB

    “Belarus is interested in diversification from the point of view of delivery of goods from the Belarusian market to the third countries via Georgia, or vice versa”, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava declared.

    Turnava, who pays visit to Belarus, pointed that “The fact that Georgia is the logistic hub, could benefit both countries”.

    WORK ON THE BILL “ON INVESTMENT FUNDS” IS COMPLETED

    Work on the bill “On Investment Funds” is completed, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared at the government meeting today. The work continued for about 4 years, he said.


    GEORGIAN MEDIATORS ASSOCIATION WORKS AS LEPL

    Today, presentation of Georgian Mediators Association was held, which was created as legal entity of public law (LEPL) under the law “On Mediation”, effective since January. Chairman of the Association is Irakli Kandashvili.


    IN 2020, PROTECTED AREAS OF GEORGIA TO EXPAND BY 100,000 HA

    In 2020, protected areas of the country will expand by 100,000 ha, Georgia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported.

    In particular, the Ministry said, Erusheti protected area of 11,385 ha will be founded on the territory of Akhaltsikhe and Aspindza municipalities of Samtskhe-Javakheti region.


    TBILISI CITY HALL PLANS REVISION OF GARBAGE REMOVAL DUTY FOR LEGAL ENTITIES

    Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared about planned revision of garbage removal duty for legal entities.

    Currently, rate of the duty collection makes up almost 95%, the Mayor said at the capital government meeting today.


    TBILISI CITY HALL PLANS WRITE-OFF OF PENALTIES, IMPOSED BY “CT PARK”

    Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared that legislative initiative will be prepared, which envisages write-off of penalties, imposed by CT Park company (former parking operator of Tbilisi).

    The Mayor said this at the capital government meeting today and noted that total volume of fines makes up about 850,000 lari.

    “PARIS AIRPORTS” GROUP PRESIDENT: WE WANT TO DEVELOP THE SCHEME OF INVOLVEMENT OF AIRLINES TOGETHER WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF GEORGIA

    Augustin de Romanet, president of Aeroports de Paris SA (ADP), declared that “We want to develop together with Georgian government a scheme of attraction of airlines”. He said this after the meeting with Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia in Tbilisi today.


    TBILISI MAYOR: CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, STARTED BY “SVETI”, WHICH WERE UNDERTAKEN BY “M2”, WILL BE RESUMED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF MARCH

    Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared that unfinished construction projects, started by the company Sveti, which were undertaken by the company m2, will be resumed since the beginning of March.

    The Mayor said this at the capital government meeting today and noted that construction projects on Mirtskhulava, Nutsubidze and Chkondideli streets are already agreed.
