    IN JANUARY, LIVING WAGE INCREASED BY 5.2% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that living wage for average consumer amounted in January to 155 lari. If compared with the same period of 2017 (147.3 lari), the indicator has increased by 5.2%.


    IN 2017, PRODUCTION OF MEAT, MILK AND EGGS DECREASED

    Sakstat released estimations, according to which meat production in 2017 amounted to 59,400 t. If compared with 2016, the indicator has decreased by 10%.


    IN 2017, EXPORT OF CATTLE AND POULTRY INCREASED, OF SHEEP AND GOATS – DECREASED

    Sakstat released estimations, according to which Georgia’s export of cattle livestock in 2017 made up 132,800 heads. If compared with 2016, the volume has increased by 33.2%.


    IN 2017, IMPORT OF CATTLE INCREASED BY 41.7%, OF SHEEP AND GOATS – 2.6 TIMES

    Sakstat released estimations, according to which Georgia’s import of cattle livestock amounted in 2017 to 5,100 heads. If compared with 2016, the volume has increased by 41.7%.


    HALF OF SLAUGHTERHOUSES IS LOCATED IN KVEMO KARTLI, IMERETI AND KAKHETI

    Sakstat reported that there were 72 slaughterhouses in Georgia in the 4th quarter of 2017, against of 75 in the 3rd quarter.

    Out of this number, three regions accounted for 50.1%, including 18.7% of Kvemo Kartli, 17.3% – Imereti, 16% – in Kakheti.


    ECONOMY MINISTRY: OVER 500 DELEGATES TAKE PART IN AVIAFORUM “CONNECT 2018”

    Today, the 15th aviaforum “Connect 2018” was opened in Tbilisi, which will last for 3 days. As Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported, over 500 representatives of 65 airlines and 250 airports take part in the event.

    TURKISH “CALIK ENERGY” PLANS TO BUILD 50-MW WIND STATION IN SHIDA KARTLI

    In Shida Kartli region, wind power plant with capacity of 50 MW will be built, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared. For that end, Turkish holding Calik Energy will invest $75 million.


    WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”, ALUMINUM AND COPPER WIRES ENTERPRISE TO BE OPENED

    Within “Produce in Georgia” state program, enterprise for copper and aluminum wires’ manufacturing will be opened in Georgia, Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia declared.

    As the Agency noted, the Turkish company has addressed the Agency because of interest to investment in Georgia 3 months ago.


    WITHIN COMPONENT OF HOTEL INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT, A HOTEL TO BE BUILT IN TERJOLA MUNICIPALITY

    Within “Host in Georgia” (“Produce in Georgia” state program’s component for hotel industry development), a hotel is planned to build in Siktarva village (Terjola municipality of Imereti region), Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia declared.

    The 10-room hotel, which is planned to open at the end of 2019, will be built on territory of 3 ha by LLC Tabakini.


    FORMER SANATORIUM IN LIBANI RESORT IS PUT ON ELECTRONIC AUCTION

    Within “50 Objects for Your Hotel” project, building of former sanatorium Libani, located in the resort of Libani (Borjomi municipality of Samtskhe-Javakheti region) is brought on electronic auction. The auction will expire on March 14.
