GERMANY INCREASES FINANCIAL AID WITHIN NATO-GEORGIA PACKAGE OF PROJECTS
Germany allocates additional financial aid of 500,000 EUR for Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) of cooperation projects, German embassy in Georgia announced.
The embassy specified that part of this sum will be directed again to Georgia’s Defense Institution Building School (DIBS), located in Tbilisi.
NBG TO PUBLISH DRAFTS OF SUPERVISION REGULATIONS
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that it will publish drafts of supervision regulations on own web site.
This initiative aims provision of interested parties with possibility to acquaint with the drafts before their adoption and to submit related reasons and comments, NBG noted.
FINANCE MINISTER: EXPENDITURE OF THE STATE BUDGET-2017 IS EXECUTED BY 100.4%
Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared that expenditure of the state budget-2017 is executed by 100.4%. The state budget has spent over 11.76 billion lari that by 14.3% exceeds indicator of 2016, he noted.
FINANCE MINISTER: NOMINAL REVENUES OF THE STATE BUDGET-2017 BY 12% EXCEEDED PREVIOUS YEAR’S SHOWING
Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared that revenues of the state budget-2017 in nominal expression amounted to 11.62 billion lari, so “growth in comparison with previous year makes up 12%”.
“The revenues are executed with excess of 131.5 million lari”, the Minister pointed at the news briefing on January 19.
IN Q4 2017, DEMAND FOR DEPOSIT CERTIFICATES 2.8 TIMES EXCEEDED EMISSION
National Bank of Georgia reported that in the 4th quarter of 2017, demand for deposit certificates (discount security) 2.8 times exceeded emission.
In particular, demand for the reporting period has totaled to 225 million lari, while total issue (4 auctions) made up 80 million lari.
IN Q4 2017, VOLUME OF REFINANCING CREDITS DECREASED BY 14.6% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that 13 refinancing credits (7-day) were issued in the 4th quarter of 2017, totaling to 14.1 billion lari. If compared with the same quarter of 2016 (16.52 billion lari), the volume has reduced by 14.6%.
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW STADIUM STARTED IN BATUMI
Ajara government declared that construction of football arena of international standards has been started in Batumi. Official launch of construction was held on January 21.
THE BUDGET SPENT 980,000 LARI FOR ARRANGEMENT OF NAVENAKHEVI CAVE
The karst cave of Navenakhevi (Terjola municipality of Imereti region) will receive the first visitors in the beginning of next tourist season, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture declared.
According to the Ministry, the project on arrangement of tourist infrastructure of the cave was funded from the budget with 980,000 lari.
UKRAINE’S ANTIMONOPOLY COMMITTEE WITHDREW IMITATED GEORGIAN WINE FROM SALE AND FINED VIOLATOR COMPANY
In Ukraine, lot of imitated Georgian wine was withdrawn from sale, while the violator company was fined, Georgian National Wine Agency reported.
As the Agency noted, it learnt in 2016 that Ukrainian companies conduct illegal imitation of Georgian wine and illegally use Georgian appellations.
IN 2017, “TURKISH AIRLINES” ACCOUNTED FOR 12% OF TOTAL PASSENGER TRAFFIC VIA GEORGIA, WHILE SHARE OF “GEORGIAN AIRWAYS” WAS 10%
Georgian Agency of Civil Aviation reported that according to number of passengers, transported via Georgian airports in 2017, Turkish Airlines was at the top. This carrier transported 463,840 passengers, or 12% of total number for the reporting year.

Georgian Partnership Fund reported about meeting, held with business delegation of Chinese province of Jiangxi.
The delegation comprised of representatives of forestry department of Jiangxi and top managers of Jiangxi Feishang Forestry Co. Ltd, Jiangxi Tuantuanyuan Furniture Co. Ltd and Jiangxi Tonggu Huahui Industry Co. Ltd.
