    US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES APPROVED ACT OF SUPPORT FOR GEORGIA

    On April 27, the US House of Representatives approved an Act of Support for Georgia, reported Georgian Foreign Ministry. The document will be sent to the US Senate and, if approved, submitted to the US President for signing.

    IRI SURVEY: 76% OF RESPONDENTS CONSIDER THAT ECONOMIC SITUATION IN GEORGIA DETERIORATED

    The latest survey of public opinion in Georgia shows that citizens are concerned about economic problems, political polarization and increased danger from Russia, the International Republican Institute (IRI) declared.

    In particular, when asked how the economic situation in the country has changed over the past year, 76% of respondents say that the situation has deteriorated, significantly or more or less.


    GEORGIAN SIDE DISCUSSED COOPERATION WITH OECD

    Georgia’s Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili met with Ben Dickinson, head of the Global Cooperation and Development Department at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in Tbilisi today.

    As the Georgian Finance Ministry reported, the parties discussed issues of ongoing and future cooperation between Georgia and OECD.


    ITALIAN TAX ADMINISTRATION TO ASSIST GEORGIAN REVENUE SERVICE

    Georgian Revenue Service declared that it will get support from the Italian tax administration in the direction of the advanced pricing agreement (APA) on international controlled transactions. The parties signed respective memorandum of understanding on April 27 in Tbilisi.


    EBRD FACILITATES TRAININGS FOR GEORGIAN COMPANIES TO INCREASE THEIR ACCESS TO CAPITAL MARKETS

    A program is offered to Georgian companies, which aims at increase their access to capital markets, reported EBRD representation in Georgia. Companies, interested in participation in the program, should pass registration until June 17.


    MINISTER OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE: BY THE END OF 2025, MUNICIPAL REVENUES WILL MAKE UP AT LEAST 7% OF GDP

    Irakli Karseladze, Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, declared that as a result of implementation of the decentralization strategy, revenues of municipalities by the end of 2025 will amount to at least 7% of the country’s GDP. He said this today, at a meeting of the governmental commission on the reform of local self-government and decentralization.

    EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY BECAME THE OWNER OF THE “JO ANN MEDICAL CENTER”

    Georgia’s European University declared about acquisition of the Jo Ann Medical Center. As the University noted, the Center will operate on the market as a non-profit legal entity Jo Ann University Hospital.

    GEORGIAN PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE: AS PART OF A TRANSNATIONAL CRIME, THE ACCUSED LEGALIZED UP TO 2M LARI

    Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office declared about revelation of a transnational crime of a large-scale fraud and legalization of illegal income. Criminal prosecution has been launched against 2 individuals and 1 legal entity, the Office said.
