    TBILISI “KRYNICA ECONOMIC FORUM” GATHERED 400 GUESTS

    Within celebration of 100th anniversary of adoption of Georgian Independence Act on May 26, “Krynica Economic Forum” was held in Tbilisi.

    As Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry reported, the event gathered about 400 guests, including presidents of Poland and Slovakia.

    “ZK ADVISORY”: SUDDEN WEAKENING OF LARI RATE AGAINST THE US DOLLAR IS CONNECTED WITH TURKISH LIRA

    Sudden weakening by 3% of lari exchange rate against of the US dollar last week is connected with Turkish lira, founder of ZK Advisory Zviad Khukhunashvili points.

    Turkish lira for the last month dropped against the US dollar by 13% because of monetary policy, which is pursued by Turkish Central Bank during the pre-election period (June 24 – parliamentary elections in Turkey), Khukhunashvili explains.


    IN 2017, IN POWER INDUSTRY 1.37M LARI WERE WRITTEN OFF FROM CONSUMERS, IN GAS SECTOR – 4.45M, WATER SUPPLY – 1.31M

    National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported that sum, written off in 2017 from consumers in power industry, made up 1.37 million lari.

    In the reporting year, 1,900 applications on disputes were submitted to the Commission, including 1,284 ones against TELASI (Tbilisi energy distributor), 599 – against EnergoPro Georgia (regional energy distributor), the Commission said.


    PROJECTS IN THE SPHERE OF TOURISM DISCUSSED WITH DONORS

    Today, Tbilisi Technopark hosted coordination meeting of representatives of donor organizations and state agencies, working in tourism sector, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported.

    As the Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili declared after the meeting, “We gathered today in order to acquaint donor organizations with those needs and projects, which we have in the sector of tourism”.


    ROADS DEPARTMENT: CLEANING OF DURUJI RIVER BED COMPLETED AHEAD OF TIME

    Works on cleaning of bed of Duruji River in Kvareli municipality (Kakheti region) have finished ahead of time, Roads Department reported. Length of cleared section makes up 8 km.

    JSC “AKHTALA RESORT” IS ON SALE FOR 3.55M LARI

    Within the state project “50 Objects for Your Hotel”, state share in JSC Akhtala Resort (up to 3.55 million ordinary shares with face value of 1 lari – up to 99.55% in the JSC’s capital) was brought recently on auction. The electronic auction will be ended on June 16.


    WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”, JUICE-PRODUCING PLANT TO BE BUILT IN TELAVI, WHILE IN SAKOBO VILLAGE – PRODUCTION OF GRAPE CONCENTRATES TO BE LAUNCHED

    Within “Produce in Georgia” state program, plant for production of juice and sweeteners will be opened in Telavi (Kakheti region), National Agency of State Property declared. For construction of the plant, land site of 7,662 square m in Telavi was handed over to LLC Natvits.

    “ACT”: 44% OF GEORGIAN POPULATION CONSIDER THAT AIR IN THEIR SETTLEMENTS IS POLLUTED

    Referring to conducted research, Analysis and Consulting Team (ACT) declared that 44% of Georgian residents consider that air in their settlement is polluted.

    37% of respondents consider that the soil is polluted, while 33% consider polluted water reservoirs.
