PREMIERS OF GEORGIA AND SLOVAKIA DISCUSSED DEEPENING OF RELATIONS BETWEEN THE COUNTRIES
On weekend, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili paid visit to Bratislava, where he took part in Global Security Forum (GLOBSEC, May 27-28). Within the visit, Kvirikashvili met his Slovakian counterpart Robert Fico.
THE PREMIER: GEORGIA ALREADY CREATED PREREQUISITE FOR NATO’S NEXT STEP ON THE WAY OF THE COUNTRY’S JOIN TO THE ALLIANCE
“I am convinced that with its fidelity to democratic reforms, NATO integration and common Euro-Atlantic security, Georgia already created the prerequisite that NATO to make the next step on the way of our country’s join to the Alliance”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared.
The Premier said it today, while addressing to session of NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which took place in Tbilisi.
THE GOVERNMENT PRESENTED INFORMATION ON REFORMS IN SPHERE OF STEADY MANAGEMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES TO DONORS
In order to inform donor countries and international organizations on reforms in the sphere of steady management of natural resources and increase efficiency of foreign assistance, Georgian government held a coordination meeting today, administration of the government reported.
The meeting was co-chaired by Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection Eka Grigolava and head of Development Cooperation at Swedish embassy in Tbilisi Molly Lien.
PARTNERSHIP FUND AND COMPANY WITH SPANISH PARTICIPATION TO FINANCE BREEDING OF MOUNTAIN PIGS
Georgian Partnership Fund declared that it will implement joint project with Native Georgian, established in Georgia by owners of Spanish meat production DeRaza Iberico.
The project envisages breeding in Georgia of pigs of mountain breed (analog of Iberico breed), production of Georgian “jamon” and commercialization on the world market, the Fund specified.
DIRECTOR CHANGED IN “MOBITEL”
Mobile operator Mobitel (Beeline brand) declared about appointment of new director. Namely, Andrzej Malinowski will replace on this post Giorgi Tkeshelashvili, who has worked in the company since 2006 at various leading positions, Mobitel said.
INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF HOTELS MANAGEMENT AND TOURISM TO BE OPENED IN TBILISI
The government declared that international university of hotels management and tourism will be opened in Tbilisi, being launched under the auspices of Vatel, French school of hospitality management.
Presentation of the new university was held today.
DESPITE PROFIT FOR 2016, CONTINUATION OF ACTIVITY OF TRADING HOUSE “CHILDREN’S WORLD” APPEARED QUESTIONABLE BECAUSE OF THE FIRE
JSC Trading House “Children’s World” reported net profit of 1.31 million lari for 2016, which is declined by 9% if compared with the previous year (i.e. 2015).
However, despite profit, the report indicates that because of fire in January of this year, the company “perhaps, will not be able to continue activity as the functioning enterprise”.
JSC “BAMBIS NARTI” FIXED LOSS IN 2016
JSC Bambis Narti (Cotton Yarn, spinning mill in Tbilisi district Nadzaladevi) reported net loss of 130,221 lari for 2016. If compared with 2015, volume of loss has increased by 85%.
58.4% OF EXPORT OF JSC “SARAJISHVILI” WAS DELIVERED IN 2016 TO KAZAKHSTAN
According to report of JSC Sarajishvili, the company exported alcoholic drinks of $5.27 million in 2016. Out of total, Kazakhstan accounted for 58.4% ($3.37 million).
“SAKARTVELOS BANKI” RELEASED NEW MOBILE BANK APP
Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) announced release of new mobile bank application, mBank, which is “100% Georgian product”, created by the bank’s team.
The bank stated that mBank allows customers “to carry out all banking operations even more simply and quicker”.
