The Finance Ministry today considered questions regarding funding of the World Bank (WB) and Kuwait Fund’s investment projects.

FINANCE MINISTER REPORTS BUDGET PARAMETERS FOR JANUARY AND FEBRUARY

The number of MPs supporting the ratification of the agreement on air communications with Turkey and the Great Britain was not enough to endorse the document today by the 1999 Parliament.
As a result of the so-called rating voting 111 MPs voted for the ratification, while the number had to be at least 118.

Walter Schvimmer, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, who arrived in Georgia today, met with Parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze.
At the meeting, Schvimmer expressed indignation that the 1999 Parliament had adopted draft constitutional amendments hastily ignoring recommendation of the Venetian commission, the European legal structure.
PARLIAMENT CONFIRMS NEW GOVERNMENT

Before that, Socialists, Traditionalists and New Rights announced they would not back the program as well as the new composition of the government and did not take part in the voting.
OSCE DISBURSES 1M EURO FOR PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS

The agreement on disbursing one million EUR has been signed today at the Finance Ministry by Finance Minister Zurab Nogaideli and the head of the OSCE mission in Georgia, Roy Reeve.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, which had visited Georgia for two weeks, had a final meeting today with the president of the country.
