The Office of Prosecutor General has questioned Tamaz Gogichashvili, director general of company Georgian Sugar (sugar plant, located in Khashuri), which was acquired in 2003 by LLC Agara Group. Gogichashvili was not arrested, but the law enforcement bodies expect him to pay 240,000 lari on April 19.

13 sailors, arrived from Batumi, stopped the hunger strike in Tbilisi after the meeting with the State Minister Zurab Zhvania on January 11. The State Minister charged the leadership of Ocean Steamship Company to regulate the problem of the sailors as soon as possible.

The acting chairman of financial-budgetary committee of the Parliament Nodar Javakhishvili sees the definite political stroke in the statement of the Finance Minister Zurab Nogaideli about the growth stoppage of budgetary indebtedness only since February, which for December-January will make up to 40 million lari.
Javakhishvili considers that the statement about the empty treasury is being used by new authorities in order to back down pre-electoral promises on increasing of salaries and the pensions.
