IN Q4 OF 2017, RATIO OF HOUSEHOLDS’ DEBT TO GDP MADE UP 33.7%
National Bank of Georgia reported that in the 4th quarter of 2017, ratio of households’ debt to GDP made up 33.7%. In the same period of 2016, the ratio was 32.2%.
AS OF MARCH, REAL ESTATE AND CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTED FOR 4.6% OF TOTAL CREDITING
National Bank of Georgia reported that as of March, real estate and construction accounted for 4.6% of total crediting in Georgia. A year ago (i.e. in March 2017), this share made up 4.8%.
IN MARCH, ROA IN THE BANKING SECTOR MADE UP 2.6%, ROE – 19.7%
National Bank of Georgia reported that average return on assets (ROA) in the banking sector made up in March 2.6%, against of 3% in the same period of 2017. Average return on equity (ROE) made up 19.7%, against of 21.3%.
IN 2017, AGREEMENTS WITHIN COMPONENT OF FINANCE AVAILABILITY OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM WERE SIGNED WITH 162 BENEFICIARIES
In its report on budget-2017 implementation, the government said that in 2017, agreements on co-financing of interest on credit and leasing were signed within “Produce in Georgia” state program’s component of finance availability with 162 beneficiary companies. Among these beneficiaries, 138 ones applied for banking credit, while 24 – for leasing.
IN 2017, GEORGIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY HELD 17 BUSINESS FORUMS
In its report on budget-2017 implementation, the government said that in 2017, Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held 17 business forums both within the country and abroad (Turkey, Italy, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Armenia). Part in these forums was taken by 1,507 companies, the report specifies.
IN 2017, INCOME OF TELECOM COMPANIES INCREASED BY 5.5%
In its annual report for 2017, National Communication Commission said that total income of entities, authorized for electronic communication service, amounted in the reporting year to 1.33 billion lari (VAT and excise exclusive). If compared with 2016, the volume has increased by 5.5%, the Commission specifies.

IN 2017, HOUSEHOLDS ACCOUNTED FOR 35.9% IN CONSUMPTION OF “TELASI” AND FOR 28.7% IN ONE OF “ENERGOPRO GEORGIA”
In 2017, households accounted for 35.9% of total electricity consumption of TELASI (Tbilisi energy distributor), while non-household consumers accounted for respective 64.1%, National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported. In total, the company supplies electricity to 564,026 consumers.
IN 2017, INCOME OF MOBILE OPERATORS INCREASED BY 7.8%
In its annual report for 2017, National Communication Commission said that total number of mobile communication subscribers by the end of 2017 (the 4th quarter) made up 5.7 million. If compared with the same period of 2016, the number has increased by 178,700 (i.e. by 3.2%), the Commission said.

“ACT”: MOST PART OF GEORGIAN POPULATION POSITIVELY ASSESSES ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE
Referring to conducted research, Analysis and Consulting Team (ACT) declared that most part of Georgian population positively assesses road infrastructure of the country. Taking into account researches of 2013 and 2015, rate of positive assessment of road infrastructure is characterized by slight, though growing tendency, ACT noted.
REHABILITATION CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS WITH DISABILITIES TO BE BUILT IN TBILISI
In Lotkin settlement of Tbilisi, the 4-storey rehabilitation center for children and teenagers with disabilities will be built on territory of 5,710 square m, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared. After construction, the center will be handed over for free to the state, the Ministry said, pointing that initiator of the project is founder of GSH fund, MP Shota Shalelashvili.
