    UNDP RESEARCH: IN GEORGIA, PUBLIC CONFIDENCE IN PROFESSIONALISM AND IMPARTIALITY OF PUBLIC SERVANTS DECREASED

    Research, released by the UN Development Program (UNDP), says that public trust in civil service remains high in Georgia, making up 67%, though it has decreased by 4 percentage points since 2016 (71%).

    At that, number of interviewed citizens, who consider that “civil service employs professionals”, dropped from 74% in 2016 to 58% in 2019.

    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: WITHIN TANAP, GEORGIA WILL RECEIVE BY 2023 OVER 1.1B CUBIC M OF GAS ANNUALLY AS TRANSIT SHARE

    Georgian government declared that within the project of Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP, a part of so-called “Southern Gas Corridor”), Georgia will receive by 2023 over 1.1 billion cubic m of gas annually as transit share.

    Official opening of TANAP took place on November 30 in Turkey, being attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.


    NEPALESE DELEGATION GETS ACQUAINTED WITH GEORGIA’S EXPERIENCE IN POWER INDUSTRY

    Governmental delegation of Nepal will be acquainted with Georgian energy reforms and power infrastructure, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. Visit of Nepalese delegation to Georgia is assisted by USAID.


    FRANCE TO ALLOCATE 35M EUR TO GEORGIA IN SUPPORT OF SOCIAL WELFARE REFORMS

    French Development Agency (AFD) will allocate 35 million EUR in support of planned social welfare reforms in Georgia. Respective agreement was signed in Tbilisi on November 29.


    EBRD ALLOCATES 80M EUR TO GEORGIA FOR ACQUISITION OF BUSES AND CONSTRUCTION OF DEPOT

    EBRD allocates to Georgia a financial resource in 80 million EUR. Respective agreement was signed in Tbilisi on November 29.

    IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR, MEDICAL INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 7.6% Y-O-Y

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in medical (health) insurance, amounted in the first half of the year to 145.65 million lari. The volume has increased by 7.6% year-on-year and made up 42.2% of total insurance premium for the reporting period.


    IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR, LAND TRANSPORT INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 27.5% Y-O-Y

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in insurance of land transport (except railway transport), amounted in the first half of the year to 57.83 million lari. The volume has increased by 27.5% year-on-year and made up 16.7% of total insurance premium for the reporting period.


    IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR, PROPERTY INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 12.7% Y-O-Y

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in property insurance, amounted in the first half of the year to 46.38 million lari. The volume has increased by 12.7% year-on-year and made up 13.4% of total insurance premium for the reporting period.


    COLD STORAGE LAUNCHED IN TSNORI

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that modern cold storage was launched through the state assistance in Tsnori (Kakheti region).

    According to the Ministry, investments in the enterprise amounted to 1.5 million lari.
