    DEPUTY FINANCE MINISTER: IN 7 MONTHS, REFUND OF EXCESSIVE VAT TO COMPANIES EXCEEDED THE INDICATOR FOR THE WHOLE YEAR OF 2020

    Georgia’s Deputy Finance Minister Tsotne Kavlashvili reported that in 7 months of this year, up to 1.06 billion lari was refunded to companies as excessively paid VAT. This volume exceeds the figure for 12 months of 2020, he pointed.

    BY FEBRUARY 2022, GEORGIAN POWER EXCHANGE MUST PRESENT ACTION PLAN OF TESTING AND LAUNCHING IN A SIMULATION MODE OF A PLATFORM FOR DAILY MARKET

    By February 1, 2022, Georgian Power Exchange has to present an action plan for formation of a platform for daily market, its testing and launching in simulation mode, reported Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission. Corresponding decision was made by the Commission at today’s meeting.


    IN Q2, MILK PRODUCTION IN GEORGIA DECREASED BY 1% Y-O-Y, MEAT PRODUCTION INCREASED BY 8.1%

    Sakstat reported that Georgia’s milk production in the 2nd quarter totaled to 194.3 million l. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has reduced by 1%.


    IN Q2, GEORGIA’S EXPORT OF CATTLE INCREASED 4.6 TIMES Y-O-Y, OF SHEEP AND GOATS – 7.7 TIMES

    Sakstat reported that Georgia exported 11,100 heads of cattle in the 2nd quarter. If compared with the same period of 2020, the showing has increased 4.6 times.


    AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: WINEGROWERS RECEIVED UP TO 11M LARI FROM SELLING GRAPES DAMAGED BY HAIL

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that winegrowers of the country received up to 11 million lari from sale of grapes, damaged by hail.

    On September 2, the Ministry reported that since August 27, the state-owned LLC Harvest Management Company has processed up to 12,000 t of grapes, damaged by hail.

    IN Q2, ADVERTISING REVENUES OF TV AND RADIO BROADCASTERS INCREASED BY 75% Y-O-Y

    Georgian National Communications Commission reported that Georgian TV and radio broadcasters’ advertising revenues for the 2nd quarter totaled to 23 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has increased by 75%.


    EBRD ALLOCATES 25M EUR TO “SAKARTVELOS BANKI”

    EBRD declared about allocation of 25 million EUR to Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia). As EBRD specified, the funds are envisaged for financing of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises and are especially focused on investment in “green” technologies.


    “SAKARTVELOS BANKI” TO ISSUE NEXT DIVIDENDS IN SEPTEMBER

    BGEO Group decided that its subsidiary, Georgia’s second largest Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) will issue dividends of 70.5 million lari from the profit for the first half of 2021. Dividend per ordinary share will make up 2.5 lari.
