    VAZHA LORTKIPANIDZE WILL LEAVE THE POST OF THE STATE MINISTER

    The Secretary General of the Citizens Union Eduard Surmanidze officially named three candidates on the post of the state minister in a new government of the country: President’s representative in Kakheti region Gia Arsenishvili, President’s representative in Imereti region Teimuraz Shashiashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Vano Zodelava.

    Answering the question, which was the most probable candidate on the post of the minister, the President of Georgia has positively evaluated all three candidates, marked out Arsenishvili, however.

    USAID, WB AND GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT WILL RENDER ASSISTANCE TO THE NATIONAL SECURITIES COMMISSION

    The memorandum, signed at the State Office today, envisages rendering financial and technical assistance to the National Securities Commission.

    We’ll remind to you that the commission consists of 5 members, two out of them – Robert Pardy and Robert Singletary are foreigners.


    THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL FAIR OF TOURISM AND RECREATION BEING HELD IN TBILISI

    The representatives of tourist agencies transport, building and advertisement firms out of 21 countries are participating in the exhibition center ExpoGeorgia, which has opened today. The fair is dedicated to the 3000th anniversary of the Georgian statehood and is held under the patronage of the President of the country, by the assistance of the of the World Tourist Organization Secretary General Franchesco Franjially.


    STATE TRYING TO STRENGTHEN ACCOUNTING IN THE BUILDING SPHERE

    According to the decree of the President, building, reconstruction and repair works (no matter the financing resource and ownership form) are banned till the elaboration of the documentation on the estimate cost and till the conclusion of a treaty between a contractor and a customer according to the adequate rules. It is noted that the decision has been adopted on the ground of the proposals advanced by the Ministry of Construction and Urbanization, aiming at the more precise accounting of the volume of work in the building sphere and defining the real resources of the additional revenues in the state budget, received from the given sphere.

    TELEVISION CENTER AND RADIO CENTER OF GEORGIA ARE ALLOWED TO REINVEST 1M LARI FROM 1999 NET PROFIT

    According to the decree of the President these sums are intended for the development of the material-technical condition of LLC Sakartvelos Teletsentri (Georgian Television Center) and LLC Sakartvelos Radiotsentri (Georgian Radio Center), affiliate enterprises of the Ministry of Post and Communications. It is noted that their grave financial condition is conditioned by the annual decline of subsidies allocated by the state budget to the television and radio broadcasting.


    BUILDING OF THE TRANSCAUCASIAN POWER SYSTEM’S SUPERVISORY CONTROL TRANSFERRED TO JSC PONTOELI AND GRUZROSENERGO

    Under the decree of the President the first 5 stories of this building with the total area of 8,155.3 square meters and the support infrastructure is transferred to the JSC PONTOELI for 5 years free of charge in order to provide realization of the project on the parallel work of the BSEC member-countries’ power systems. Under the same decree, the entresol floor of the building with the area of 1,190.7 square meters and the garage – 90 square meters has been transferred to the JSC Gruzrosenergo for 5 years free of charge.
