IRAKLI MENAGARISHVILI’S FIRST VISIT IN INDIA
As Sarke was informed at the Public Information Department of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the Minister left for Moscow, from where he will fly to Dehli. In the course of the visit, scheduled for 10-12 May, Menagarishvili is going to raise wide range of issues.
FIRST MEETING OF BLACK SEA COUNTRIES COASTGUARD COMMANDERS HAS STARTED IN TURKEY
The representatives of Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine are participating in this meeting, during which, their representatives are intending to discuss the further cooperation plan for the coast guard services of the region. According to the press-service of the Georgian Frontier Department the possibilities of holding joint trainings, carrying out life-saving operations, joint activities on the struggle against contraband etc.
INTERNATIONAL MILITARY EXPERTS CONFERENCE HAS BEEN POSTPONED
As it was informed at the Defense Ministry, this conference, originally scheduled for May 8-9, has been postponed for late May. The representatives of 3 groups will participate in it: International Advisors Council on the Security in Georgia, contact group of the US troops command in Europe and the group of NATO advisers.

The Chairmen of the Committees on Sectoral Economics Zurab Tskitishvili, Economic Policy Levan Gachechiladze, Taxes and Revenues Zurab Nogaideli, Social Welfare and Health David Gamkrelidze, Agrarian David Kirvalidze, Procedures and Rules Roland Giligashvili, Foreign Affairs Nino Burjanadze and Human Rights Elene Tevdoradze are among those, who resigned. This happened as a result of the closed session of the chairmen of committees, held under the chairmanship of Zurab Zhvania today.
ENTREPRENEURS GOING TO SUPPORT ARSENISHVILI’S CANDIDATURE ON THE POST OF THE STATE MINISTER
As the representative of the fraction Entrepreneurs Zurab Tkemaladze informed Sarke, he is confident in Arsenishvili’s ability to implement the President’s program for coming out of the crisis. According to Tkemaladze, Giorgi Arsenishvili is “an excellent candidature”.
PRESIDENT GOING TO CHANGE HIS PRESS SECRETARY
This morning at the session of the State Office the President nominated Vakhtang Abashidze, his press secretary and the head of the State information agency Sakinform on the post of the chairman of the National Communications Regulating Commission.
Shalva Pichkhadze is named as the possible candidate on the post of the press secretary.
NEW TAX CORRUPTION INDEX ELABORATED IN GEORGIA
The Economics Minister Vladimir Papava has elaborated indexes, enabling to estimate the corruption level in the tax system, on the ground of common index theories. According to the proposal of the Chairman of the Parliament Zurab Zhvania they are entitled as Papava’s indexes.

The Budgetary Office of the Parliament has come to this conclusion. It denotes the possibility of mistakes made in the figures of the report and serious offences in spendings (demands of the law “On Budget” has been violated).

TREASURY DEPARTMENT BLACKED OUT ALLOCATION OF SUMS FOR POWER ENERGY CONSUMED BY TSKHINVALI REGION AND ABKHAZIA
According to the Budgetary Office of the Parliament, the company Sakenergo was to get 11.6 million Lari from the state budget till December 1, 1999 for the electricity, consumed by the population of these regions; this did not happen, however. According to the Office, these sums were misappropriated.
