    THE PARLIAMENT ADOPTED IN FIRST HEARING THE LEGISLATIVE PACK ON STRUCTURAL REORGANIZATION OF THE GOVERNMENT

    At the extraordinary meeting today, Georgian Parliament adopted in first hearing (84 votes pro and 3 – contra) the legislative package on structural reorganization of the government.

    “In order to implement concept of small and flexible government, merger/optimization of the governmental departments and redistribution of functions between them are planned at this stage for rapid and effective implementation of the planned reforms”, the parliamentary secretary of the government Natia Mikeladze declared, while representing the draft pack.

    GEORGIA AND CHINA PLAN TO SIGN AGREEMENT ON MOTOR TRANSPORTATIONS

    On July 3-4, negotiations on text of the agreement on international motor transportations of passengers and freights between Georgia and China were held in Tbilisi.

    As Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development said, the negotiations resulted in coordination of basic provisions and signing of the respective protocol.


    NEFCO TO ALLOCATE 2.83M EUR TO GEORGIA

    The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) will allocate financial resource of 2.83 million EUR to Georgia. Besides, Georgia will receive grant of 1.87 million EUR from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P).


    AS OF JUNE, “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM SUPPORTED 372 PROJECTS

    Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia reported that as of June, 372 projects are supported within “Produce in Georgia” state program, launched in 2014.

    Total expected investments within the supported projects exceeds 904 million lari, the Agency said.

    “ANAKLIA CITY” AGREED ON STRATEGIC COOPERATION WITH “KERRY LOGISTICS”

    Georgian Anaklia City reported about agreement on strategic cooperation, reached with Kerry Logistics (Hong Kong). The agreement envisages cooperation in development of deep-water port and special economic zone in Anaklia.


    “TBC BANK” TO GET $70M FROM DEG

    TBC Bank Group declared about credit agreement of $70 million, signed on June 26 by its subsidiary, JSC TBC Bank, with German Investment Corporation (DEG). The 7-year credit is intended for financing of small and medium business by Georgian bank.


    IN Q1, PROFIT OF “TBC BANK” INCREASED 1.62 TIMES Y-O-Y

    TBC Bank reported net profit of 107.73 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2017, the volume has increased 1.62 times.


    IN Q1, PROFIT OF “SAKARTVELOS BANKI” DECREASED BY 36.8% Y-O-Y

    Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) reported net profit of 74.78 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2017, the volume has decreased by 36.8%.

    NBG WON CATEGORY “COUNTRY AWARD” OF GLOBAL INCLUSION AWARDS

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported about win in regional “country award” category of Global Inclusion Awards of 2018.

    Awarding ceremony was held within forum of the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusiveness (GPFI, created by initiative of G20), held on July 3-4 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
