IN Q4 OF 2018, BUSINESS SECTOR’S TURNOVER INCREASED BY 21.9% Y-O-Y, OUTPUT – BY 9.6%
Sakstat reported that in the 4th quarter of 2018, turnover of Georgian business sector totaled to 25.8 billion lari, increasing by 21.9% year-on-year.
In total turnover, trade (including repair of cars, household appliances and personal consumption items) accounted for 40.9% (against of 45.4% in the 3rd quarter of the same year).
IN Q4 OF 2018, NUMBER OF OCCUPIED IN BUSINESS SECTOR INCREASED BY 3.7% Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that in the 4th quarter of 2018, number of occupied in Georgian business sector made up 684,500. If compared with the same period of 2017, the number has increased by 3.7%.

“We plan to introduce “one window principle” for investors”, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia declared. Within this principle, “our employees will settle to investors all issues in various ministries”, he explained.
PRIME MINISTER: 6% OF GDP, I.E. A QUARTER OF CURRENT BUDGET, WILL BE DIRECTED TO EDUCATION SPHERE BY 2022
Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared that the state undertakes liability to increase annually financing of education sphere, which “will reach a maximum by 2022, when we will achieve 6% of GDP” that makes up a quarter of current budget.
As the Premier noted, it “will cause encouragement of investments from the private sector too” that means that “exactly education sector will become dominant in our economy and will reach share of 10-11%”.
MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE: ADDED VALUE, CREATED IN AGRICULTURAL SECTOR, INCREASED BY 4%
Referring to preliminary data, Georgia’s Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili declared that added value, created in agricultural sector of the country, increased in 2018 by 4%.
That is especially important after decline, recorded in 2017, the Minister said and noted that added value in 2018 has increased in both crop production and cattle breeding.
MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE: IN 2018, GEORGIA’S EXPORT OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS INCREASED BY 23.2%
Georgian Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture declared that according to preliminary data, Georgia’s export of agrofood production in 2018 amounted to $959.2 million. If compared with 2017, the volume has increased by 23.2%, the Ministry noted.
MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE: THE STATE HAS FINANCED FOR NOW OVER 900 EXISTING AND 188 NEW ENTERPRISES
Has Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili reported that “the state financed for now over 900 existing and 188 new enterprises”.
Besides, orchards are planted on 6,347 ha, in which case the state co-financing in this reached 34 million lari, the Minister said, adding that rehabilitation of tea plantations on 960 ha was carried out.
