    THE EU-GEORGIA ASSOCIATION COUNCIL CONSIDERED GEORGIA’S “ROADMAP 2EU”

    Georgian government reported that at its 5th meeting, the EU-Georgia Association Council considered the “Roadmap 2EU”, offered by Georgia. As the government noted, the road map aims deepening of integration of Georgia into the EU.


    PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE DISCLOSED LETTER, ALLEGEDLY SENT BY INTERIOR MINISTER TO FOUNDER OF “TBC BANK”

    While appeared in Georgian Parliament on March 4, founder of TBC Bank Mamuka Khazaradze declared that before the 2nd round of presidential elections (November 28, 2018), he received the letter with threats from Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia (which copy he has presented to the Prosecutor’s Office).

    In its turn, the Prosecutor’s Office declared today that Khazaradze has presented “so-called document, printed on computer printer, which has no any identifying data and signs”.

    EBRD PRESIDENT AND GEORGIAN FINANCE MINISTER DISCUSSED ISSUES OF COOPERATION

    EBRD president Suma Chakrabarti, who arrived to Georgia with a visit, met today with Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani.

    This is already the 4th visit of Chakrabarti to Georgia as the head of EBRD, after his visits in 2013, 2015 and 2017.


    ISET FORECAST: GROWTH OF REAL GDP IN 2019 WILL MAKE UP 4.4%

    According to the latest forecast of Policy Institute of International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET-PI), Georgia’s real GDP growth in 2019 will make up 4.1% in worst-case scenario and 5.2% in best-case scenario.

    At that, ISET-PI points that “middle-of-the-road scenario (based on the average growth in the last four quarters) predicts a 4.4% increase in real GDP”.


    STATE PROPERTY AGENCY: 22 COMPANIES WERE REMOVED IN 2018 FROM LIST OF STATE ENTERPRISES, WHILE 3 ONES ADDED

    In terms of minimization of public enterprises, 22 companies were removed from the list of public enterprises during 2018, while 3 ones were added, Georgian National Agency of State Property declared.

    According to the Agency, it held as of December 31, 2017, shares and stakes in 122 enterprises (including controlling shares – in 94).


    STATE PROPERTY AGENCY: BENEFICIARIES OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM GOT REAL ESTATE WORTH 35.94M LARI

    Georgian National Agency of State Property reported that real estate, handed over to beneficiaries of “Produce in Georgia” state program, totals to 35.94 million lari. As the Agency noted, expected volume of investments will makes up 171.78 million lari.


    MARGINS APPROVED FOR TECHNOLOGICAL AND NATURAL LOSSES IN WINE GROWING AND WINEMAKING PRACTICE

    Georgian Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture approved margins for technological and natural losses in winegrowing and winemaking practice. Respective order of the Minister will enter in force on April 3.

    “IPM RESEARCH”: IN 2018, CONSTRUCTION SECTOR ACCOUNTED FOR 2.9% OF TV COMMERCIAL

    During 2018, Georgian broadcasting companies aired 28,046 commercials in category of construction sector, IPM Research reported. As the company noted, that makes up 2.9% of total indicator of advertising in broadcasting.
