    FOREIGN MINISTRY OF GEORGIA DOES NOT COMMENT RUSSIA’S STATEMENT THAT HALO TRUST OSTENSIBLY TRAINS CHECHEN MINERS IN ABKHAZIA

    At the briefing today the official representative of Foreign Ministry Avtandil Napetvaridze did not comment the information of Russia’s Federal Service (FSB), that the employees of this British organization is allegedly training Chechen boevics in Abkhazia for minig, and also conducting a intelligence activity in the region. “Russia and Halo Trust will get outside of it themselves”, he stated.


    EDUARD SHEVARDNADZE HELD A MEETING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF SPECIAL SERVICE

    According to Kakha Imnadze, the President’s press secretary, today, at the meeting they were considering measures for liberating employees of the Red Cross, kidnapped in Pankisi canyon, in the shortest time possible. He, however, obstained from announcing a concrete date.

    BALCZEROVICZ THINKS, GEORGIA CAN NOT OVERCOME CRISIS WITHOUT HELP OF IMF

    Polish economist, residing in Tbilisi since august 8, stated about it today, while summing up his first visit in the country, as economic advisor of the President of Georgia. Leszek Balcerovicz, who for the first time met with the President on August 10, today has given his estimates of Georgian economy and he have already prepared first recommendations on crisis outcoming.


    UNICEF PASSED OVER 8 OFF-ROADS TO NATIONAL CENTER FOR DECEASE CONTROL

    As director of the center, Paata Imnadze stated at the delivery ceremony today, UNICEF has been rendering assistance to Georgia in children’s guarding health already for 7 years. According to him, these automobiles (Russian Niva) must help the implementation of state program of immunization in those regions, which have not been overtaken yet (in the first place, in mountais).
