    EU CITIZENS HAVE TO FILL OBLIGATORY REGISTRATION FORM PRIOR TO ENTER GEORGIA

    Georgian government declared that citizens/residents of EU countries, arriving to Georgia, will have to fill in advance an obligatory registration form.

    As the government noted, Georgia unconditionally opens borders for visits from 5 EU countries (Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia), which citizens will be permitted to enter Georgia only by air.


    GEORGIA ALLOWED CULTURAL EVENTS IN OPEN SPACE

    Georgian government declared that holding of cultural events in open space is allowed with condition of compliance with recommendations of the Ministry of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection. Audience of each event should not exceed 200 people.

    INFLATION IN JUNE MADE UP 6.1%

    Sakstat reported that annual inflation in Georgia in June made up 6.1%. The rate of monthly inflation (i.e. in comparison with previous month, May) was negative, making up 1.4%.


    NBG’S INTERNATIONAL RESERVE ASSETS INCREASED FOR JANUARY-JUNE BY 3.16%, WHILE DECREASED BY 3.19% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that its official international reserve assets totaled at the end of June to $3.6 billion.

    This showing has increased for January-June by 3.16%, while decreased by 3.19% in comparison with the same period of last year.


    IN JANUARY-JUNE, GEORGIA’S FOREIGN TRADE DECREASED BY 16.3%

    Sakstat reported that Georgia’s foreign trade turnover totaled in January-June to $5.07 billion (without undeclared trade). If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has reduced by 16.3%.

    DIRECT FLIGHTS BETWEEN KUTAISI AND ABU DHABI TO BE LAUNCHED IN OCTOBER

    Since October 1, direct flights will be conducted between Georgia’s Kutaisi airport and the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, Georgian Airports Association reported.

    Flights will be made by Wizz Air Abu Dhabi (the new airline, established by the Hungarian low-coster Wizz Air) twice a week (on Thursdays and Sundays).


    RECYCLING PLASTIC ENTERPRISE TO BE LAUNCHED IN KHOBI BY CHINESE INVESTMENTS

    Plastic recycling enterprise will be launched in Khobi municipality (Samegrelo region) with Chinese investments, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared.

    For the mentioned end, the company Global Recycling acquired land site of 300,000 square m in Khobi municipality at the auction with investment conditions within the state project “100 Investment Offers”.


    WITHIN UNIFIED AGROPROJECT, MIXED FODDER ENTERPRISE IS LAUNCHED IN TSNORI

    With assistance of the state uniform agroproject, mixed fodder enterprise is launched in the city of Tsnori of Signagi municipality (Kakheti region), Georgian government reported.

    As the government noted, investments in the enterprise totaled to 900,000 lari, of which 600,000 lari was preferential agrocredit, while the rest part – private investment.

    IN 6 MONTHS, 4,121 ENVIRONMENTAL OFFENCES ARE REVEALED

    From January 1 to June 30, 4,121 environmental violations are revealed countrywide, Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported. At that, 224 cases contain signs of criminal offense, the Ministry noted.
