    CREDENTIALS EXPANSION IS PLANNED FOR LEGAL AND CONSULTING SERVICE CENTERS

    The Parliament reported that Fiscal Committee supported at the meeting yesterday amendments to laws on legal aid and lawyers. The draft, being an initiative of First Vice Speaker Tamar Chugoshvili, envisages credentials’ expansion for legal and consulting service centers.


    “TI GEORGIA”: TRUST TO “PUBLIC BROADCASTER” IS CRITICALLY LOW

    TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, declares that trust to Public Broadcaster is critically low, including because of recent change of editorial policy, staff decisions and non-transparent competitions.

    Under new management, suspicions became stronger that those persons, who have close ties with authority and billionaire ex-premier Bidzina Ivanishvili, have expanded their influence on Public Broadcaster, the organization indicates in the research, which presentation took place today.

    NBG EX-PRESIDENT: LEGEND OF NEW YEAR DEVALUATION OF LARI IS DEVELOPED BY THIS AUTHORITY

    Ex-president of National Bank of Georgia, MP from oppositional National Movement Roman Gotsiridze declares that “the legend of New Year devaluation of lari is developed by this authority in order to justify somehow the tradition of lari depreciation, which has established in the last 5 years”.

    “In the last month of the year, lari had always became stronger or remained stable.


    TOURISM ADMINISTRATION: WORK ON BUSINESS TOURISM STRATEGY IS NEAR TO END

    National Tourism Administration declared that strategy of business tourism (MICE) will be ready by the end of December. In development of the strategy, the Administration is assisted by the Austrian experts.


    WORK ON NEW STRATEGIC PLAN FOR WINE SECTOR IS UNDERWAY

    Agriculture Ministry declared that work on new strategic plan for wine sector is underway. The plan will envisage reforming of National Wine Agency as well.

    AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, PREMIUM IN PROPERTY INSURANCE INCREASED BY 7.6% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted as of September 30 in property insurance, amounted to 56.77 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased by 7.6%.


    AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, PREMIUM IN FREIGHT INSURANCE INCREASED BY 27.5% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted as of September 30 in freight insurance, amounted to 4.45 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased by 27.5%.


    AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, PREMIUM IN FINANCIAL LOSS INSURANCE INCREASED BY 21.6% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted as of September 30 in financial loss insurance, amounted to 1.97 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased by 21.6%.


    CONSTRUCTION OF “BODORNAHES” STARTED

    Today, official launch of construction of BodornaHES was held in Dusheti municipality of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. The project, which is implemented by GWP (Tbilisi water and sewerage company), has to be completed in September 2018.


    INSOLVENCY PROCEEDING ON “IBERIA MEAT HOLDING” IS LAUNCHED

    Tbilisi city court reported about launch of insolvency proceeding on LLC Iberia Meat Holding. Creditors meeting is appointed on January 18, 2018.
