    IN 2018, GEORGIA TO HOST ENLARGED MEETING OF EUROCONTROL

    In September 2018, Georgia will host enlarged meeting of European organization for air navigation safety (EuroControl), Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared. The country had joined this organization in 2014.


    SUBCOUNCIL OF DEVELOPMENT OF FEMALE ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO BE CREATED

    Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that meeting of consulting council for private sector development (it is created in 2016) was held recently, for the second time in this year. At the meeting, decision on establishment of subcouncil for development of female entrepreneurship was made.


    NBG DISCUSSED PLANNED LEGISLATIVE AMENDMENTS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF NON-BANKING SECTOR OF WESTERN GEORGIA

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that meeting with the representatives of non-banking financial institutions, operating in Western Georgia, took place. Topics of the meeting were legislative amendments and consumer protection, NBG said.

    CONSTRUCTION OF SECTION OF GAS PIPELINE RED BRIDGE – GARDABANI IS COMPLETED

    Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation reported that construction of section of the main gas pipeline Red Bridge – Gardabani is completed. The matter concerns the pipeline section with diameter of 700 mm, having length of 19 km.


    AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: WITHIN COOPERATION WITH CHINA, THE 2ND PHASE OF PROJECT ON HOTHOUSE FARMS DEVELOPMENT WILL BEGIN SOON

    Agriculture Ministry declared that within cooperation with China, the 2nd phase of project on development of hothouse farms in Western Georgia will begin soon.

    As the Ministry said, greenhouses will be located on experimental base of the Ministry’s Agricultural Research Center in Imereti region.

    WATER SUPPLY COMPANIES’ INVESTMENT PLANS FOR 2018-2020 ARE AGREED

    National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported that investment plans for 2018-2020 of Tbilisi water supply company GWP (Georgian Water&Power), Mtskhetis Tskali (Mtskheta Water) and Rustavis Tskali (Rustavi Water) are agreed.

    In particular, GWP has to invest 114.1 million lari in 2018-2020.


    “SMART NET” TO CONDUCT SPECIALIZED TV AND RADIO BROADCASTING IN INTERNET

    National Communication Commission reported that LLC Online Music has got recently authorization for broadcasting.

    The company will conduct specialized TV and radio broadcasting in Georgian (entertaining, musical, cognitive) in Internet under brand of Smart Net.


    LLC “TSEROVANI AISI” OPENED WITHIN UNIFIED AGROPROJECT

    Within the unified agroproject, LLC Tserovani Aisi (storage of agricultural products) was opened, Agriculture Ministry reported.

    According to the Ministry, $520,670 are invested in the enterprise, including grant of $208,268 and preferential agrocredit of $260,335.


    WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM, COMPANY “CHIRINA” EXPANDED ITS GRAIN DRYER AND WAREHOUSE COMPLEX

    Within “Produce in Georgia” state program, company Chirina expanded its grain dryer and warehouse complex in Sartichala village (Kvemo Kartli region), Agriculture Ministry reported.

    The Ministry pointed that the complex was built and equipped by the British company Chief Industries UK.As a result of expansion, the enterprise became able to process hourly 60 t of raw materials, the Ministry noted.

    YOUNG FINANCIERS AND BUSINESSMEN ASSOCIATION: DESPITE REGULATIONS, ONLINE CREDITING COMPANIES CONTINUE TO PLUNDER POPULATION

    Young Financiers and Businessmen Association declared that “despite regulations, established by National Bank concerning companies, which issue online credits, representatives of the mentioned business still continue to plunder the population”.

    “The companies, issuing online credits, try to bypass these regulations on expense of consumer rights and to introduce different schemes for that end”, the Association stated.
