    CIVIL ORGANIZATIONS: CANCELLATION OF OBLIGATION ON SIMPLIFIED PUBLIC COMPETITION FOR EMPLOYMENT IN PUBLIC SERVICE IS UNACCEPTABLE

    Georgian Young Lawyers Association and Institute for Development of Freedom of Information consider unacceptable cancellation of obligation for public services to hold simplified public competition for staff employment.

    As these non-governmental organizations note, that is envisaged by the draft amendments to law “On Remuneration in Public Establishments” and auxiliary laws, which the Parliament adopted in second reading.

    ADB TO ALLOCATE 12M EUR TO GEORGIA

    Georgia and Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed the agreement on investment program of sustained urban transport (project 5) in Tbilisi today. Within the agreement, ADB will allocate 12 million EUR to Georgia.


    ADB PRESIDENT’S VISIT TO GEORGIA IS PLANNED FOR NEXT YEAR

    Georgian Finance Ministry reported that visit of the president of Asian Development Bank (ADB) to the country is planned for the next year.

    While addressing to the event, held today because of the 10 anniversary of ADB-Georgia partnership, Georgia’s acting Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze named cooperation with ADB “exemplary”.


    TBILISI CITY HALL: THE 1ST STAGE OF REHABILITATION OF NARIKALA FORTRESS IS COMPLETED

    Tbilisi City Hall declared about completion of the 1st stage of rehabilitation of Narikala fortress (medieval citadel of Tbilisi). The capital budget has spent 715,000 lari for this project.


    “BP” AND USAID TO IMPLEMENT JOINT PROJECTS IN 41 VILLAGES

    BP Georgia declared that joint projects of BP and USAID-funded program of economic development Zrda (“Growth in Georgia”) will be implemented in 41 villages of the country.

    Respective agreement was signed yesterday in Tbilisi by Brian King, chief of USAID Zrda, and Gia Gvaladze, Georgia’s external affairs manager of BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited.

    ELECTRICITY GENERATION AND TRANSMISSION TARIFFS ARE ESTABLISHED

    National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission has established today generation tariffs of hydroelectric stations and thermal power plants for 2018-2020.

    Namely, electricity generation tariff of VardnilHES series of hydroelectric stations will make up 4.002 tetri/kWh (against of 2.88 tetri/kWh), while of EngurHES – 1.818 tetri/kWh (against of 1.496 tetri/kWh).


    STANDARD LOSSES OF ELECTRICITY IN ENERGY SYSTEM’S NETWORKS ARE APPROVED

    National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission has approved recently standard losses of electricity in energy system’s networks. Respective resolution of the Commission will enter in force on January 1, 2018.


    PARTNERSHIP FUND: CONSTRUCTION OF COMPOSITE AVIATION PARTS PLANT WILL BE FINISHED AT THE END OF 2018

    Georgian Partnership Fund declared that construction of Aerostructure Technologies Cyclone (ATC, production of composite parts for civil aviation) will be finished at the end of 2018.

    Construction of the plant is joint project of the Fund and the Israeli company Elbit Cyclone worth $85 million.


    WITHIN “PLANT THE FUTURE” PROJECT, WALNUT PLANTATION IN BOLNISI THE GARDEN IS EQUIPPED

    Agriculture Ministry reported that within “Plant the Future” project, LLC Deveplus laid out a nut garden on 5 ha in Bolnisi (Kvemo Kartli region).

    As the Ministry noted, the company joined the project in 2016 and received state financing of 42,146 lari for arrangement of irrigation system and the garden.

    YOUNG FINANCIERS AND BUSINESSMEN ASSOCIATION: PROCESSES ON GEORGIA’S FUEL MARKET DO NOT COINCIDE MOSTLY WITH GLOBAL TENDENCIES

    Young Financiers and Businessmen Association estimates that during the whole year, processes on Georgia’s fuel market “do not coincide mostly with global tendencies”.

    The Association grounds such estimation with summarizing research, which brings prices on international and local markets and tendencies of currency exchange rate’s change.
