IN TERMS OF STATISTICAL INFORMATION’S AVAILABILITY AND COMPLETENESS, GEORGIA IS ON THE 38^TH PLACE IN THE WORLD

Report of Open Data Watch states that Georgia in 2017 was on the 38^th place among 180 countries of the world in terms of availability and completeness of statistical information, Sakstat said. At that, Georgia wins first place in the region.




THE EU ALLOCATES 4.35M EUR FOR SUPPORT OF 8 PROJECTS

Within European Instrument for Human Rights (EIDHR) and Civil Society Organizations and Local Authorities (CSOs/LAs) calls for proposals, 8 projects were selected in 2017, the EU representation in Georgia said.

These projects will receive the EU funding, totaling for 2018-2020 to 13 million lari (4.35 million EUR).

THE EU ASSISTED TO IMPLEMENTATION OF 4 EMPLOYMENT-SUPPORTING PROJECTS

The EU financed 4 grant projects in the sphere of employment and professional education, the EU representation in Georgia reported. The representation noted that within these projects, innovative approaches were piloted and new models are developed for employment support.




ECONOMY MINISTRY: FOR HOLDING FESTIVAL IN ANAKLIA, 3- OR 5-YEAR SUPPORT PROGRAM WILL BE ANNOUNCED

In near future, 3- or 5-year support program will be announced, which will provide stable schedule of events in Anaklia – existence of annual festival and its long-term support, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared.

This year, several musical weekends will be held in Anaklia within “Check in Georgia” program, the Ministry said.




FAO DEVELOPED MODEL OF GEORGIA’S WINEMAKING SECTOR’S MANAGEMENT WITHIN ENPARD

Within European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD), the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has developed model of winemaking sector’s management, Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported.

The reform aims development of the winemaking industry and promotion of Georgian wine on local and international markets, the Ministry said, pointing that the model is considered, which equally represents interests of public and private sectors.

“IPM”: IN 2017, MOST MEDIA-ACTIVE WINE COMPANIES WERE “TELAVI WINE CELLAR” AND “TELIANI VALLEY”

In 2017, most media-active winemaking companies were Telavi Wine Cellar and Teliani Valley, which accounted for per 13% of total appearances, Institute for Polling and Marketing (IPM) reported.

According to IPM, Winery Khareba and Badagoni accounted for per 12%, Tbilgvino – for 11%, Shilda, Besini and Askaneli Brothers – per 5%, while Giuaani, Wineman and Bagrationi-1882 – per 4%.
