STUDY OF DRAFT AGREEMENTS WITH RUSSIA “ON COOPERATION FOR INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY PROTECTION” AND “ON PRODUCTION COOPERATION” FINISHING AT FOREIGN MINISTRY

BAKUR GULUA AGAINST TRANSFERENCE REGULATING FUNCTIONS FROM SAMTREST TO WINE FEDERATION

Today, the acting Minister of Agriculture informed that according to the proposal submitted to the Parliament, the regulating functions in viniculture and wine industry, conducted at the moment by the state department Samtrest are to be transferred to Wine Federation, uniting wine makers.

Gulua is flatly against this proposal, as in this case, according to him, the regulating functions will appear monopolized by the country’s greatest wine maker GWS.

EBRD PURCHASED 6% MICROFINANCE BANK OF GEORGIA

This agreement was signed in Tbilisi today, right after one year of establishing this bank with 5 million Lari equity capital. Signing of the agreement coincided with the auctioneers annual assembly, including the German KFW (51% shares) and IMI (12%), the bank of Netherlands FMO (12%), as well as Georgian TBC-bank, Tbilcombank, Tbilcreditbank and Intellectbank (jointly 25%).




ITERA DELEGATION VISITING TBILISI

As it was informed at Itera representation today, the delegation, headed by the senior vice-president of the corporation Genadi Bondarenko, is discussing with the Georgian government the question concerning the JSC Tbilgaz privatization. Under the agreement reached during the Moscow negotiations in April, during this visit the joint working group is to be created, which will deal with working-out of the privatization project and the following the JSC Tbilgaz rehabilitation.
