    GUAM’S EXPANSION FOR ACCOUNT OF UZBEKISTAN DOES NOT MEAN THE ESTABLISHING OF MILITARY UNION

    About this declared the President Shevardnadze and noted that Georgia actively cooperates with Ukraine in the military sphere bilaterally. As it is known, Uzbekistan expressed desire to join the union of the countries, which includes Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.


    VICTOR CHERNOMYRDIN HAS VISITED TBILISI

    The special representative of the Russian President on regulating crisis in Yugoslavia met the Georgian President. From Tbilisi Chernomyrdin left for Baku, and then for Kiev.


    THE ABKHAZIAN POWERS ARE CONCERNED WITH GEORGIA’S REACTION ON NATO’S OPERATION IN YUGOSLAVIA

    The assistant of the President of self-declared Republic of Abkhazia Astamur Tania declared, that now the Georgian politicians think that NATO’s actions in Yugoslavia might become a model for solving the conflict in Abkhazia, however earlier they paralleled with the Russian-Chechen conflict.

    THE TAX DEPARTMENT WAS ORDERED TO CHANGE THE SITUATION WITH THE EXCISE PRODUCTION DURING 10 DAYS

    About this yesterday declared the Deputy State Minister Vano Chkhartishvili at the council in the Tax Department, during which were discussed the results of the service’s work after the introduction of excise stamps in Georgia.     JAPAN IS GIVING TO GEORGIA MEDICAL EQUIPMENT COSTING $6M

    This agreement was signed in Tbilisi by the head of the economical department of the Japanese Embassy in Russia and the Georgian Health Minister. The medical equipment will be installed in the Central Clinical and Children’s Central Clinical Hospitals.


    THE BRITISH COMPANY ITS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE AJARIAN CUSTOMS

    THE TURKISH FIRMS ARE FISHING NEAR THE ABKHAZIAN COAST

    The agreement between Abkhazriba, the state company of the self-declared Republic of Abkhazia, and the fishing firms Kilkardishlar and Kansul was signed on February 4. During this time were caught 200 t fish, at the same time the Abkhazian side keeps 40%.

    THE HEARING OF THE CASE OF THE ABKHAZIAN AUTONOMY’S DEPUTY JUSTICE MINISTER WAS ADJOURNED YESTERDAY

    The complainant Zurab Todua demands from the Ministers Council and the Justice Ministry of the Abkhazian autonomy operating in Tbilisi to restore him in his position. Zurab Todua introduced the documents, proving his powers as the Deputy Justice Minister.


    ANRI JERGENIA THINKS, THAT THE POLITICAL ISOLATION NEGATIVELY AFFECTS THE CRIMINOGENIC SITUATION IN ABKHAZIA

    According to the general prosecutor of the self-declared Republic of Abkhazia, many cases could be brought to the end, because suspects are hiding abroad. It is necessary to note that during 5 years the work of the General Prosecutor’s Office has never been positively graded by the Abkhazian Popular Assembly (Parliament).


    PRODUCTION WORKERS AND NON-MANUAL WORKERS OF RUSTAVI METALLURGICAL COMBINE HELD THE PROTEST ACTION

    The employees of the combine demanded to cover the salary indebtedness, which they have not been receiving more than a year, and restart work. They declared about the plan to hold the action in the capital if their demands are not satisfied till the end of the month.
