STRASBOURG COURT: RUSSIA VIOLATED MULTIPLE ARTICLES OF EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHTS CONVENTION DURING WAR WITH GEORGIA IN AUGUST 2008
Today, European Court of Human Rights announced the decision on the case of war between Russia and Georgia in 2008.
Strasbourg Court agreed on Georgia’s claims that Russia violated multiple articles of the European Convention on Human Rights, Georgian Justice Ministry reported.
NATIONAL PLAN OF ANTI-COVID-19 VACCINATION APPROVED
At the meeting today, Georgian government approved the national plan of introduction of a vaccine against COVID-19. The document targets as a main goal ensuring of vaccination of 60% of Georgian citizens by the end of 2021, administration of the government reported.
IN 2020, NUMBER OF INTERNATIONAL VISITORS DROPPED 5.4 TIMES
Georgian National Tourism Administration reported that number of international visitors in the country amounted in 2020 to 1.7 million. If compared with 2019, the number has decreased 5.4 times.

Georgian National Tourism Administration reported that 69.7%, or 1.2 million international visitors, arrived in 2020 to Georgia by land. If compared with 2019, the number has decreased 4.7 times.
NET PROFIT OF COMMERCIAL BANKS DROPPED 9.6 TIMES IN 2020
National Bank of Georgia reported that net profit of 15 commercial banks, operating in the country, totaled in 2020 to 99.3 million lari. If compared with 2019, the volume has reduced 9.6 times.
IN 2020, VOLUME OF INTERNET TRANSACTIONS INCREASED BY 15.8%
National Bank of Georgia reported that volume of online transactions, originated in Georgia, totaled in 2020 to 4.06 billion lari. If compared with 2019, the volume has increased by 15.8%.
EUROPEAN EXPERTS PROVIDED RECOMMENDATIONS TO GEORGIAN SIDE IN ORDER TO PROMOTE IMPLEMENTATION OF SMART ENERGY METERING
Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported about completion of the project on development of a strategy on encouraging regulation of quality of services and supporting introduction of smart metering, which was implemented with Twinning program of cooperation between Georgian and European public agencies.
The closing ceremony of the 24-month project took place today.
ECONOMY MINISTRY: GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT, WITH ASSISTANCE OF EBRD, CONDUCTS STUDY ON USE OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN RENEWABLE ENERGY
Natia Turnava, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, declared that Georgian side, with assistance of EBRD, conducts study on use of innovative technologies in renewable energy. As an example, she named “green” hydrogen.
