ECONOMY MINISTER: SO-CALLED EXPORT TRIANGLE WILL BE CREATED

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Gakharia spoke about so-called export triangle, while addressing economic conference, held within Ambassadorial-2017.

According to Gakharia, the triangle envisages coordinated work of three departments – Economy Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Agency of Export Crediting, which will be created under Partnership Fund.

While addressing economic conference, held in Tbilisi within Ambassadorial-2017, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Gakharia spoke about institute of commercial attaches. The countries, where commercial attaches will start working already on the 1^st stage, are already defined, he noted.

GEORGIAN AND SLOVAK PARTIES DISCUSSED PROSPECTS OF COOPERATION

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that meeting with Slovak delegation, including director general of Slovak EximBank Dusan Keketi, was held today.

As the Ministry said, the parties discussed prospects of cooperation in trade, tourism and other spheres of economy.




GEORGIAN AND TUNIS AVIATION AUTHORITIES BODIES SIGNED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

Today, negotiations held between aviation authorities of Georgia and Tunisia, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The negotiations resulted in signing of memorandum of understanding.




IN JANUARY-JUNE, PROFIT OF COMMERCIAL BANKS INCREASED BY 54.1% Y-O-Y

National Bank of Georgia reported that total net profit of commercial banks amounted as of June 30 to 447.93 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased by 54.1%.




STATUS OF MOUNTAIN SETTLEMENT GRANTED TO 37 MORE VILLAGES

By the government’s resolution, status of mountain settlement was granted to 37 more villages and from the next year, their 7,000 residents will receive appropriate social benefits.

As the government noted, almost half of 3,700 settlements of Georgia has now the mentioned status.




CONSTRUCTION OF NEW TERMINAL AT KUTAISI AIRPORT TO START IN AUGUST

The government declared that in August, construction of new terminal will start in Kutaisi International Airport. As the government noted, the terminal will give opportunity to serve 6 flights simultaneously.




CONSULTATIONS WITH AFD TO BE HELD ON REHABILITATION OF WATER INFRASTRUCTURE OF KHASHURI

The government declared intention to implement project on rehabilitation of water supplying infrastructure of Khashuri (Shida Kartli region).

In order to attract necessary financing, consultations will be held with French Development Agency (AFD).

JSC “NIKORA” PLACED BONDS OF $10M

Meat producing JSC Nikora declared about placement of bonds, totaling to $10 million. Annual yield of 2-year bonds makes up 9%.




WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM, JSC “ARGO” TO LAUNCH LEMONADE PRODUCTION

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that JSC Argo, located in Tbilisi outskirt Lilo, was added to beneficiaries’ list of “Produce in Georgia” state program.

With assistance of the program, the company plans to add the lemonade producing line and to expand the range of soft drinks, the Ministry said.

IN CASE OF CHOICE, 45% OF TBILISI RESIDENTS WOULD SELECT FOREIGN COUNTRY FOR RESIDENCY

Company ACT (Analysis and Consulting Team) conducted a poll, according to which 55% of Tbilisi resident would select Georgia in case of possibility to choose any country for residency. Accordingly, 45% would select foreign country for living.
