EBRD AND THE EU ALLOCATE 1.1B EUR IN SUPPORT OF SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESS IN GEORGIA, MOLDOVA AND UKRAINE
EBRD and the EU allocate 1.1 billion EUR for financing of credit lines / trade, supporting small and medium business in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, the EU representation in Georgia reported. Besides, the EU provides for three countries grants, totaling to 58.3 million EUR.
THE EU LAUNCHES IN GEORGIA THE BUDGETARY SUPPORTING PROJECT, TOTALING TO 48M EUR
The EU launches in Georgia the project on the budgetary support, totaling to 48 million EUR, deputy head of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Katarina Mathernova declared during her visit to Tbilisi. Within the project, we will work in three directions, she noted.
ECONOMY MINISTER: WITHIN EU4BUSINESS, OVER 180M LARI INVESTED
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili declared that over 180 million lari was invested within EU4Business (the EU program for business development). About 100 companies have used a credit line already, he noted.
ECONOMY MINISTER: OUR MAIN GOAL IS DRAFTING AND ADOPTION OF LAW AND ACTION PLAN ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY
“Our main goal is development, in line with European directives, and adoption of law and action plan on energy efficiency”, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili stated.
The Minister declared also that Georgia plans to adopt in near future the law on energy efficiency of buildings.
INVESTORS’ COUNCIL HELD NEXT MEETING
Today, Council of Investors held its next meeting in Tbilisi, administration of Georgian government reported.
At the meeting, the Council considered those benefit, which Georgia will receive within initiative of the EU, envisaging allocation of 4.1 billion EUR to European Neighborhood countries within next 4 years.
IN MAY, TBILISI TO HOST BUSINESS TOURISM EXHIBITION
In May, by initiative of Georgian Convention and Exhibition Bureau, exhibition of business tourism “IMG MICE Geography Show” will take place in Tbilisi, Georgian National Tourism Administration reported.
According to the Administration, the event will be attended by 100 foreign leading tourism companies.
UP TO 100 BELARUS COMPANIES TOOK PART IN GEORGIA-BELARUS BUSINESS-FORUM
Today, Georgia-Belarus business-forum was held in Tbilisi, being attended by up to 100 Belarus companies, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported.
The Ministry said that the forum participant represented such spheres as food industry, machinery manufacturing, construction, logistics and tourism.
ELEVATORS’ ASSEMBLING TO BE LAUNCHED IN GEORGIA
Manufacturing of elevators will start in Georgia through cooperation of Georgian and Belarus companies, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared.
As the Ministry specified, elevators will be assembled on the basis of the research-and-production center of Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi.
CONSTRUCTION OF MULTIMODAL TERMINAL TO START IN BATUMI PORT
International logistic company Wondernet Express plans to build multimodal terminal on the territory of Batumi port in order to transport mineral fertilizers from countries of Central Asia. According to the company, it is going to invest $20 million in the project.
“FITCH RATINGS” IMPROVED OUTLOOK FOR “PROCREDIT BANK” FROM “STABLE” TO “POSITIVE”
Fitch Ratings revised outlook for ProCredit Bank from “stable” to “positive”, while affirmed the Georgian bank’s rating at “BB” level.
As the agency noted, this revision follows the revision of the outlook on Georgia’s sovereign rating from “stable” to “positive”, held on March 16.
