GEORGIA AND THE WORLD BANK DISCUSSED COOPERATION ISSUES
Georgia’s Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani and the World Bank regional director for the South Caucasus Sebastian Molineus held a meeting in Tbilisi today.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation, including measures on facilitation to Georgian economy in the post-pandemic period, Georgian Finance Ministry reported.
MEASURES IDENTIFIED TO REDUCE MOVEMENT OF LANDSLIDE ON MACHAVARIANI STREET IN TBILISI
Our primary task is to reduce to a certain degree the movement of landslide in the area of Machavariani Street, declared Irakli Bendeliani, Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi.
In particular, a temporary barrier will be set up and then safe roads to the landslide zone will be built, Bendeliani told journalists.
RENEWED TERMINAL OF BATUMI AIRPORT WAS OPENED
The renewed terminal of Batumi Airport was opened today, total area of which has been increased from 4,000 square m to 8,000 square m, Georgian government reported.
As the government noted, expansion of the airport was caused by growth of passenger traffic, which exceeded 600,000 people in 2019.
PITCH REHABILITATED AT BATUMI FOOTBALL STADIUM
British company SIS Pitches has arranged a hybrid pitch at Batumi football stadium, Georgian government reported. The project was financed by Anagi company, which built the stadium, the government noted.
DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-EMISSION TRANSPORT AND RESTORATION OF DEGRADED FOREST IS PLANNED IN KUTAISI
Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture declared that it is planned to implement the “Low-Emission Development of Kutaisi through Urban Planning” project.
The project, being funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), is implemented by the UN Environment Program (UNEP) and Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus (REC), the Ministry said.
