“TI GEORGIA”: VIOLATIONS REVEALED IN PROPERTY DECLARATIONS OF 10 OUT OF 46 CURRENT AND FORMER OFFICIALS OF STATE PLENIPOTENTIARIES’ ADMINISTRATIONS, FILLED IN 2020
TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, examined property declarations, filled in 2020 by officials of administrations of state plenipotentiaries in Georgian regions. In declarations of 10 out of 46 current and former officials, violations were revealed, the organization said.

IN Q4 2020, CONSTRUCTION COST INDEX INCREASED BY 5.7 PP Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that in the 4th quarter of 2020, Georgian construction cost index increased by 5.7 percentage points (pp) compared to the same quarter of 2019. The change is mainly due to a 9.3% increase of construction materials’ prices, Georgian statistics service explained.
FLOUR SUBSIDY PROGRAM TO LAST UNTIL END OF JUNE
Georgian government decided to extend the program of wheat flour subsidizing until end of June, announced Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The program has been underway since December 2020.

GEORGIAN DISTRIBUTORS’ BUSINESS ASSOCIATION AND UGTH AGREED ON COOPERATION
Georgian Distributors’ Business Association and the UK-Georgian Trade Hub (UGTH) signed a memorandum on cooperation. The memorandum will promote development of relations in commercial issues, increase of international recognizability of Georgian companies and attraction of investments to Georgia, the Business Association said.
INVESTMENTS IN COMPLEX OF “ALLIANCE GROUP” IN BATUMI TO MAKE UP $380M
Investments, which Alliance Group is going to make in Alliance Centropolis complex in Batumi, total to $380 million, Georgian government declared. Today, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and head of Ajara government Tornike Rizhvadze solemnly opened construction of the complex.

Insurance company Euroins Georgia reported net profit of 79,324 lari for 2020. In 2019, the company recorded loss of 822,878 lari.
IN 2020, PROFIT OF “INSURANCE GROUP OF GEORGIA” INCREASED BY 49.2%
Insurance Group of Georgia reported net profit of 1.9 million lari for 2020. If compared with 2019, the volume has increased by 49.2%.

“WASTE DETECTOR”: 1.45M LARI SPENT ON ROOFING OF GELATI MONASTERY, BUT THE COMPLEX IS STILL IN GRAVE CONDITION
Non-governmental organization Waste Detector reported that in total 1.45 million lari was spent in 2015-2020 for roofing of Gelati monastery complex. However, today the complex is in grave condition and the ancient frescoes are being destroyed, the organization says.
