    CEC’S PRELIMINARY RESULTS: ZURABISHVILI – 38.64%, VASHADZE – 37.74%

    Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) published preliminary results of presidential elections, held in the country on October 28, according to which Salome Zurabishvili, backed by ruling Georgian Dream, got 38.64% of votes. The candidate of opposition union Strength is in Unity (core member – United National Movement) Grigol Vashadze won 37.74%.

    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: THE 3RD CONSIDERATION OF THE IMF PROGRAM IS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

    Georgian government declared about agreement, reached with the IMF regarding successful completion of the 3rd consideration of ongoing the IMF program of Extended Fund Facility (EFF). That became known after the meeting of Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and head of the IMF mission Mercedes Vera-Martin today.


    NBG WARNS OF RISKS UPON TRADE ON FOREX PLATFORM

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) urges citizens to take proper account of the fact that trade on Forex platform is connected with extra risks and requires specific knowledge and experience.

    We urge to use for intermediary activity only services of licensed broker companies, while immediately inform NBG on facts of revealed unlicensed service, NBG said in the released statement.


    AGENCY OF INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES: APPLICATIONS OF THE 6TH FLOW ARE ACCEPTED WITHIN “START BUSINESS WITH FABLAB” PROJECT

    Georgian Agency of Innovations and Technologies declared about start of acceptance of the 6th flow of applications, submitted within “Start Business with Fablab” state project. Deadline for application submission is November 4.

    ECONOMY MINISTER: “HITACHI” WILL STUDY GEORGIAN MARKET

    Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia declared that Japanese corporation Hitachi “will study Georgian market and will return with specific proposals”.

    Agreement on the subject was reached at the meeting of the Minister with Hitachi’s special representative for external relations Yasuo Tanabe, held in Tbilisi on Friday.


    “LIBERTY CONSUMER” AND “SAKARTVELOS KAPITALI” EXCHANGED SHARES

    Sakartvelos Kapitali (member of BGEO group) reduced capital of JSC Liberty Consumer (investment company), in which it owns 98.24%.

    The reduction was conducted through redemption by Liberty Consumer of 155.2 million ordinary shares of Sakartvelos Kapitali worth 23.86 million lari and their further cancellation.


    A 5-STAR HOTEL “RADISSON COLLECTION” OPENED IN TSINANDALI

    On the territory nearby to estate of Alexander Chavchavadze (Georgian public figure of the 19th century) in Tsinandali, which operates currently as museum, 5-star 142-room hotel Radisson Collection was opened yesterday. This is the first brand hotel of international standards in Kakheti region.

    “CARTU” FUND HANDED OVER 3 NEW COMPLEXES TO RUGBY UNION

    In the statement of October 27, Cartu fund declared about handover of 3 new sports complexes to Georgian Rugby. Two of these complexes are located in Tbilisi, while one – in Telavi.
