3. LLC ALAVERDI PRODUCTION DROPPED 4 TIMES IN 2007

   Zurab Goginashvili, cofounder of LLC Alaverdi, told Sarke that production volume made up 500,000 bottles of wine in 2007, decreased 4 times since the previous year. The production decrease was caused by embargo, imposed by Russia, which was core market for the company.

   The article resulting from journalistic investigation states that the former Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli deserved impeachment, because thanks to him at least 3 tetri per each consumed kWh is additionally withdrawn from population’s pockets.

   According to the article, consumer energy tariff could be reduced by that 3 tetri, if Nogaideli would not have signed the order right before his retirement, which legitimated the memorandum, signed last year with RAO EES, the owner of TELASI (capital energy distributing company) since 2003.

8. LLC ALAVERDI STARTED SELLING OF KOSHER WINE THIS YEAR

   As Zurab Goginashvili, co-founder of LLC Alaverdi announced, three types of kosher wine are sold from this year: Saperavi, Kindzmarauli and Kakheti.

   The company started producing of kosher wine in 2006, and has produced 300,000 bottles for today.

    The last document, prepared by Bendukidze, envisaging strengthening of his functions and ability to control actually the whole government and Prime Minister, was opposed by the Parliament.

    As Georgian Banking Association president Zurab Gvasalia said, 8% interest rate credits will be issued by the state in terms of “Export Stimulation” component of “Cheap Loan” program, while 2% interest rate – in terms of “Regional Tourism and Popular Handicraft Development” component.

    Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze and Economic Development Minister Ekaterine Sharashidze discussed the mentioned credits with the Georgian bankers today.

    Unexpected death in London of oligarch and media-magnate Badri Patarkatsishvili, who opposed recently the authorities of Georgia, shocked the society. According to the official version of the British side, the reason of 52-year old businessman’s death became heart attack.

    Today the Parliament’s fiscal committee supported government’s acting program – “United Georgia without Poverty”, which is envisaged for the years 2008-2012. The program was represented by Finance Minister Nika Gilauri.
