3. AMALTEA WILL RESUME FUNCTIONING IN SPRING

   Zurab Tskitishvili, founder of JSC Amaltea (dairy producer), told Sarke that the company will resume production, which was stopped since the year 2006, in spring.

   The company planned to resume its functioning in January this year, but failed to finish re-equipment process in the enterprise timely.

   First evidences of the changed tactics of authority became consent to reform the Georgian Public Broadcasting (public TV channel) and Mikheil Saakashvili’s meeting with Sozar Subari, the Ombudsman, followed latter’s open critical letter. 6. AGREEMENTS ON DOUBLE TAX AVOIDANCE RATIFIED WITH TURKEY, DENMARK AND FINLAND

   Georgian Parliament has ratified agreements on double taxation avoidance and tax evasion suppression with Turkey, Denmark and Finland on special meeting today.

   Zurab Dekanoidze, the parliamentary deputy secretary of the President, has noted that agreements aim to implement program on large investment encouraging.

7. MCG AND GEORGIAN OIL AND GAS CORPORATION SIGNED NEXT AGREEMENT ON MAIN GAS PIPELINE REHABILITATION

   Agreement was signed today between Millennium Challenge Georgia (MCG) and LLC Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, according to which 2^nd and 3^rd phases of main gas pipeline rehabilitation project will start. Funding at $25 million is envisaged for the works that will last 25 months.

8. REPAIR WORKS ON TSITELI KHIDI – TSALKA – ALASTANI MAIN GAS PIPELINE ARE COMPLETED

   LLC Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation announced that rehabilitation of Tsiteli Khidi – Tsalka – Alastani main gas pipeline, aimed gas providing to Akhalkalaki district, has been completed. Zurab Janjgava, director general of the Corporation, and Alexander Khetaguri, Georgian Energy Minister, attended presentation of the repaired 700-m section and newly constructed 6-km section today.

9. Rezonansi: “FUNDING OF DEFENSE DECREASES”

   Financing of the defense will be decreased from the next year, except the socially oriented expenses, the newspaper supposes. However, exact changes of budget-2008, which are made by demands of the new Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze, are not known yet.

11. THE PARLIAMENT APPROVED A WHOLE NUMBER OF AMENDMENTS TODAY

    Georgian Parliament has adopted today amendments in Tax Code (pro 110, contra 0). According to the amendments, initiated by Zurab Tkemaladze, the leader of Industrialists, alienation of share in a chartered capital of the enterprise will be exempted from VAT.

    Official reason of Zurab Nogaideli resignation was named his level of health and personal application. However, the newspaper, referring to reliable source, reports that the real reason was Nogaideli’s categorical disagreement with radically changed draft budget-2008, which became more socially oriented.

13. GEORGIAN OIL AND GAS CORPORATION FINANCES GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION OVER MTKVARI RIVER BY 3M LARI

    Zurab Janjgava, general director of Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, declared that the corporation has issued 3 million lari for gas pipeline construction over Mtkvari River. Construction works, which last already two months, should be finished by December 10.

14. CONSTRUCTION WORKS ON MAIN GAS PIPELINE IN AKHALKALAKI DISTRICT STARTED

    According to LLC Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, construction works on 6 km section of main gas pipeline Red Bridge – Tsalka – Alastani, aiming further supply gas to Akhalkalaki district, have already begun. Ditch of 2.5 km is already dug and polyethylene pipes are laid on 1.8 km.

15. PRIME MINISTER CANDIDATE MAKES ACCENTS ON EMPLOYMENT LEVEL RISE

    Lado Gurgenidze, candidate for a post of prime minister, said at the meeting of Parliament bureau that the main task of the new government is to keep the continuity of economic policy, while adjusting social policy towards employment rise.

    According to him, creation of working places should happen through economic rise, namely through the export growth.

    Today, President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili introduced Lado Gurgenidze, Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) supervisory council chairman, on prime-minister position instead of Zurab Nogaideli. Parliament of Georgia will approve Gurgenidze candidacy in the near future.

19. THE GOVERNMENT TO CREATE COORDINATION HEADQUARTER FOR CITRUS HARVESTING

    Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said before government meeting today that coordination headquarter will be created, aiming lossless citrus harvesting in the western Georgia. The headquarter is expected to be opened tomorrow in Batumi.

20. WORK ON FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH TURKEY TO BE CONTINUED IN TERMS OF GEORGIAN VISIT IN ANKARA

    As Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said before today’s government meeting, Georgian governmental delegation will visit Ankara, Turkey tomorrow. Besides the Prime Minister, Finance Minister Nika Gilauri, Energy Minister Aleko Khetaguri, Agriculture Deputy Minister Bakur Kvezereli, Environment Protection and Natural Resources Deputy Minister Irakli Gvaladze compound the delegation.
