SECRETARY GENERAL OF “GEORGIAN DREAM”: THERE IS NOT A SINGLE CASE OF POLITICAL PRESSURE UPON BUSINESS

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, who is also secretary general of ruling Georgian Dream, declared that “there is not a single case of political pressure upon business and, respectively, nobody is able to present any evidence of such fact”.

“Georgian Dream is accused with feeble so-called hidden records of pressure upon business by the criminal political force, for which business racket, blackmail and intimidation of businessmen, seizure of property was the everyday phenomenon”, Kaladze said.

Recent developments in the country indicate grave crisis of democracy, existing in governance system of the country, clear signs of elite corruption and informal clan ruling, Georgian non-governmental organizations declare.

We consider that adoption of control over public institutes by influential group, which uses them for achievement of own narrow goals, causes destruction of public institutes, the organizations pointed in the statement, released today.

GEORGIAN PREMIER DOES NOT EXCLUDE CORRECTION OF INITIAL VERSION OF BUDGET-2019

Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze does not exclude that during consideration, initial version of the budget-2019 “will be essentially corrected as regarding revenues, as well as capital expenditure”.

“From the next year, we sharply increase financing in several directions”, the Premier told journalists.




COUNCIL OF INVESTORS DISCUSSED CREATION OF COMMERCIAL CHAMBERS, REFORM OF INSOLVENCY SPHERE AND OTHER QUESTIONS

DRAFT RULE IS PUBLISHED OF OBLIGATORY AUDIT OF COMMERCIAL BANKS AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION IN EXPLANATORY REMARKS

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) published draft rule of obligatory audit of financial reporting of commercial banks and disclosure of information in explanatory remarks.

NBG specified that the draft determines obligations of commercial banks and auditor firms, minimum requirements to selection of auditor firms, etc.




3^RD STAGE OF VEHICLES’ CHECKUP STARTED

The 3^rd stage of vehicles’ checkup started in Georgia today. Obligatory checkup applied now to all cars of individual owners, which motor capacity is equal or exceed 3,000 cubic cm.

FINANCE MINISTRY: TAX ARREARS OF “OGT” GREW UP FROM 18,444 LARI IN 2014 TO 49.16M IN 2018

Georgian Finance Ministry published recently detailed information on tax arrears of LLC OGT (tobacco enterprise of Omega Group). According to the Ministry, initial tax arrears, aroused in October 2014, amounted to only 18,444 lari.

TBC Bank released the statement, pointing that statement of Omega Group’s founder Zaza Okuashvili, made yesterday on air of Rustavi-2 TV company, “is not true and represents attempt of dissemination of false information”.

PARTNERSHIP FUND: HI-TECH PLANT OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY WILL BE BUILT IN GEORGIA

In Georgia, hi-tech plant of alternative energy will be built, Georgian Partnership Fund declared.

For that end, memorandum of understanding was signed between the Fund, Spanish Phi4 Technology SL and Silk Tech Group.
