    ISSUES OF CORPORATE MANAGEMENT DISCUSSED IN TBILISI

    Today, Tbilisi Technology Park hosted a conference, organized by initiative of EBRD, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and Independent Directors Association.

    Participants of the conference considered amendments, made in 2016-2017 in law “On Entrepreneurship” concerning principles of corporate management.


    BATUMI HOSTS BUSINESS FORUM “INVEST IN BATUMI”

    In Batumi, business forum “Invest in Batumi” was started today, within which Ajara Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kazakh investment agency Kazakh Invest have signed memorandum on cooperation, the government of Ajara reported.

    The government noted that the memorandum will promote smooth deliveries of Georgian production to Kazakhstan’s market.


    FRAME MODAL REPO AGREEMENT IS APPROVED

    President of National Bank of Georgia approved the frame modal repo agreement on securities.

    As respective order notes, that aims definition of rights and obligations of the agreement parties and regulation of their relations, resulting from repo deals.

    IN Q1, REVENUES OF “GEORGIAN RAILWAY” FROM FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION DECREASED BY 10.3% Y-O-Y

    JSC Georgian Railway reported income from freight transportation of 68.18 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has decreased by 10.3%, the company specified.


    “GEORGIAN RAILWAY”: TRANSPORTATION OF OIL PRODUCTS GREW IN Q1, BUT INCOME DECLINED

    JSC Georgian Railway reported that volume of oil products, transported in the 1st quarter, made up 1.78 million t. If compared with the same period of previous year, the volume has increased by 24%.


    “GEORGIAN RAILWAY”: REVENUES FROM ORE TRANSPORTATION IN Q1 DECREASED BY 4.5% Y-O-Y

    JSC Georgian Railway reported that income from ore transportation in the 1st quarter amounted to 6.34 million lari, decreasing year-on-year by 4.5%.

    Despite growth of transportation volume by 6%, freight traffic has decreased by 16%, the company specified.


    “SERVICEAIR” TO CONDUCT TBILISI-BATUMI FLIGHTS

    Since July 7, ServiceAir begins flights from Tbilisi to Batumi, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The flights will be conducted by 32-seat Saab daily, except Wednesday.


    “SAKARTVELOS BANKI” OFFERS CLIENTS NEW PROGRAM

    Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) declared that from now on, clients can join PLUS program and receive PLUS banking card.

    Consumers will accumulate PLUS points, which could be exchanged for gifts from PLUS catalog, free travel by municipal transport, goods and services in trade objects.


    IN Q2, COST OF EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS INCREASED 22.36 TIMES Y-O-Y

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported that total volume of exchange transactions for the 2nd quarter amounted to 5.59 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased 22.36 times.


    IN Q2, COST OF OTC TRANSACTIONS HAS INCREASED 2.4 TIMES Y-O-Y

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported that total volume of OTC transactions for the 2nd quarter amounted to 19.8 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased 2.4 times.
