    NBG LEFT MONETARY POLICY RATE INTACT

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported today about decision of its Monetary Policy Committee to leave the refinancing rate intact. Respectively, the rate still makes up 7%.


    ADJUSTED VOLUME OF FDI FOR 2017 BY 1.4% EXCEEDS THE ESTIMATION

    Sakstat declared that adjusted volume of foreign direct investments (FDI), made in Georgia in 2017, makes up $1.89 billion. The mentioned volume by 1.4% exceeds the estimation for 2017 and by 20.6% – the adjusted volume for 2016, Georgian statistics service said.


    IN Q2, INTERNATIONAL VISITORS’ EXPENSES IN GEORGIA INCREASED BY 31.5% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that expenses of international visitors in Georgia amounted in the 2nd quarter to 1.9 billion lari. If compared with the same period of previous year, the volume has increased by 31.5%, Georgian statistics service noted.


    CHINESE GOVERNMENT TO SECURE CONSTRUCTION OF 2 PSYCHIATRIC CLINICS IN GEORGIA

    Georgian Ministry of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection declared that Chinese government secures construction of 2 psychiatric clinics in Georgia. One clinic will be located in Telavi (Kakheti region), another – in Senaki (Samegrelo region).


    ROADS DEPARTMENT CONSIDERED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF KVESHETI-KOBI PROJECT

    Environmental protection and social issues, related to construction of 22.7-km road section Kvesheti-Kobi (Mtskheta-Mtianeti region), were considered today in Roads Department, Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported.

    At the meeting, the project was presented by Gamma Consulting company.


    LAB ANALYSIS: MOST PART OF HAZELNUT IN GURIA IS DAMAGED BECAUSE OF FUNGUS DISEASE

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported about inspection of phytosanitary condition of hazelnut plantations in Guria region.

    According to the Ministry, laboratory examination revealed that the most part of hazelnut is damaged because of fungus disease.

    SINCE OCTOBER 1, PASSENGERS TO KUTAISI AIRPORT TO BE TRANSPORTED BY “OMNIBUS EXPRESS”

    Since October 1, passengers to Kutaisi airport will be transported by Omnibus Express, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development said.

    The Ministry noted that service of the company will be available for passengers, traveling to(from) the airport from(to) Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi itself.


    SHARES OF “TBILCHIMFARM” WITHDRAWN FROM TRADES

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported that shares of JSC Tbilchimfarm (pharmaceutical enterprise) are withdrawn from the trades since August 24. The decision was made following request of the issuer.
