IMF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ACQUAINTED WITH CURRENT ECONOMIC SITUATION AND REFORMS IN GEORGIA
Today, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with executive director of IMF Anthony De Lannoy. As administration of Georgian government reported, the parties considered Georgia’s macroeconomic indicators and ongoing economic reforms.
EU AMBASSADOR IN GEORGIA: THE MAIN THING IS NOT MERELY TO ADOPT NEW LAWS, BUT TO EXECUTE THEM
The EU ambassador in Georgia Janos Herman noted that under Agreement on Association with the EU, Georgia has to finish legal harmonization by 2020. Herman said that Georgia “has made already a lot in this direction”, but “the remained period required a hard work”, while “the main thing is not merely to adopt new laws, but to execute them”.

Georgia’s Deputy Premier and Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili declared that “one of important vectors of our country’s development is based on trade today”. “We are the country, which has to become a transit and logistic hub, the country, which is located between Europe and Asia, on crossing of the Silk Road”, he said.
300 GUESTS TOOK PART IN BUSINESS FORUM “CONSTRUCTION GEORGIA 2017”
Up to 300 guests had participated in business forum “Construction Georgia 2017”, which took place in Tbilisi on June 6, reports Business Georgia, organizer of the event. Participants had discussed such topics as situation in construction sphere and development tendencies, safety and energy efficiency standards, financing of construction business and existing risk factors, made investments and new opportunities, etc.
COMMUNICATION COMMISSION: INCOME OF ENTITIES, OPERATING IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INCREASED IN 2016 BY 1.1%
According to annual report of National Communication Commission, total income of authorized entities, operating in electronic communications, amounted in 2016 to 1.26 billion lari (VAT and excise exclusive). The volume exceeds by 1.1% the showing of 2015, the Commission pointed.
NEW DRAINAGE SYSTEM IN SAMGORI DISTRICT OF TBILISI SHOULD BE ARRANGED BY NOVEMBER
Tbilisi City Hall declared that arrangement of new sewerage network is planned in the capital’s district Samgori, having total length of 9 km. The project was started in May and will be completed in the end of November.
NEW SYSTEM OF PAYMENT TO BE INSTALLED IN MUNICIPAL TRANSPORT OF TBILISI
City Hall of Tbilisi announced plans on introduction of new system of payment in municipal transport. In the next few days, competition on modernization of the system will be announced, while work on the system’s creation and introduction will begin in July, the City Hall said.
IN SEPTEMBER, RENEWED 5-LARI BANKNOTES TO BE ISSUED
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared that on September 1, renewed banknotes of 5 lari will be issued. New banknotes will be used in parallel with the old ones.

COMMUNICATION COMMISSION: IN 2016, INCOME OVER 100M LARI WAS GAINED BY 4 ENTITIES
According to annual report of National Communication Commission, income over 100 million lari was gained in 2016 by 4 entities. In 2015, such income was gained by 5 entities.
EBRD DECREASED STAKE IN “TBC PLC”
TBC PLC (parent company of TBC Bank) reported that EBRD has sold 1.9 million ordinary shares of TBC PLC. This pack makes up 30% of total stake of EBRD.
“AVERSI-PHARMA” INVESTED 15M LARI IN RENEWAL OF CLINIC
Today, renewed Bochorishvili multiprofile clinic in Tbilisi was opened. Aversi-Pharma, with assistance of EBRD, has invested 15 million lari in renewal of the clinic, administration of Georgian government reported.
