IN Q4 OF 2018, DENSITY OF MOBILE INTERNET USERS INCREASED BY 9 PERCENTAGE POINTS Y-O-Y
Georgian National Communication Commission reported that 55.2% (2.95 million) of total subscribers of Georgian mobile networks used in the 4th quarter of 2018 internet service against of 47% in the same period of 2017.
Density of mobile Internet users (ratio of their number to total size of the country’s population) at the end of 2018 made up 79%, against of 70% in 2017, the Commission said.
NUMBER OF ACTIVE SUBSCRIBERS WITHIN CONSOLIDATED STATE TENDER MAKES UP 22% OF TOTAL CORPORATE SUBSCRIBERS
At the end of 2018, number of subscribers, served within the state consolidated tender, made up 280,000, or 22% of total number of total corporate subscribers of mobile communications, Georgian National Communication Commission reported. In 2017, their number made up 279,000, accounting for the same 22% of total number.
IN 2018, THE STATE BUDGET’S REVENUES FROM THE SPHERE OF COMMUNICATIONS IN DECREASED BY 0.4%, THOUGH REVENUES FROM BROADCASTERS AND AUTHORIZED ENTITIES GREW
Georgian National Communication Commission reported that 283.3 million lari entered the state budget from the sphere of communications in 2018.
According to the Commission’s report for 2017, the sphere’s fiscal charges amounted to 284.5 million lari, respectively, decreasing in 2018 by 0.4% year-on-year.
REGULATING COMMISSION: IN 2018, CAPITAL INVESTMENTS IN BROADCASTING INCREASED BY 6%
Georgian National Communication Commission reported that capital investments, made during 2018 in national broadcasting sphere, totaled to 16.9 million lari. If compared with 2017, the volume has increased by 6%, the Commission noted.
COMMERCIAL OPERATION OF ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFTS BECAME SUBJECTED TO AUTHORIZATION
Georgian Civil Aviation Agency declared about adoption of new regulation, which subjects commercial operation of ultralight aircrafts to mandatory authorization in the Agency.
At that, the mentioned operators will be allowed to carry out operation only in case of presence of insurance of civil liability concerning passengers and third parties, the Agency pointed.
UP TO 160 COMPANIES FROM 12 COUNTRIES TAKE PART IN “WINEXPO GEORGIA 2019”
Today, in Tbilisi exhibition center ExpoGeorgia, the 12th international wine and spirits fair “WinExpo Georgia” was opened, which will last through June 15.
As Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported, up to 160 companies from 12 countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine) take part in the exhibition.
